FFXIV: Endwalker Gunbreaker 1 to 90 Leveling Skills Guide

New? Got too many skills? Made the mistake of using a level skip and have no idea what anything does? Just hate reading? Try this guide out!

This guide seeks to teach new Gunbreakers how to Gunbreaker properly, without getting too deep into optimization. I’ll be showing off and explaining some openers but not delving too much deeper beyond that and general skill usage. Endgame is a long way away and there’s lots to learn along the way. Start slow and work your way up one skill at a time! Then, graduate to more advanced guides.

  1. Started playing a little bit ago, and your guides have helped me immensely with picking up the game! Keep up the good work and thanks for the content 🙂

  2. I really like this format, it makes more sense than the level by level way for sure. Good call!

I just swapped to GNB for DSR (because we're masochists and want to all change roles for each clear) and I'm glad to know I'm not making any egregious errors.

  3. It's amazing how different one can view gunbreaker from a casual view to an optimized, savage raiding view. I've gone over my opener and melds three times over the course of Pandaemonium due to the headaches Gnashing Fang gives me since it's affected by skill speed. No other job gives me this headache because I can't think of another job where a core job skill is affected by skill speed, just mainly the main gcd roll.

But it was worth learning the best gunbreaker I can be. Superbolide is much easier to pull off in EW thanks to Corundum, plus playing with Scholars in roulettes is an interesting way to use Bolide proactively when I know Excog is on. I basically learned to use Bolide proactively, when I know my healer hasn't used their big cooldowns yet. Don't have to worry about becoming the Benediction meme if I use Bolide above 50%.

  4. Cool video, too bad everything after level 30 was a fever dream as you slowly bled out from the giant ice spike.

    Alternate joke: … Whatever.

Cool as always, gotta get back in to 14 and get to endwalker already. Also sad the "Danger Zone~" didn't make it into the karaoke opener.

  5. Aurora is my favorite pulling tool. Royal Guard's enmity multiplier on the regen means you will overpower anything the Healer or DPS does before you can AOE to secure the enmity lead. Plus, it helps patch up some of the damage you take when pulling multiple groups before stopping and popping damage mitigation. It even works if a boss should spawn adds. It's one of my favorite GNB skills because it has that added utility.

  6. Oh i dont know we double weave blastzone+bowshock directly, all this time i always weave single those cd between gnashing fang combo :/

  7. Heart of Corundum is my favorite Tank skill, WAR's Bloodwhetting is a close second. I love that they are on a short 25 second cooldown and all the stuff they give you!

  8. GNB main here, the opener Wesk shows at the end is the "1-2-3 No Mercy" opener, a very standard opener used by GNB for many fights – its legit! I use it for most fights in savage/ultimate content, so any new players would do well to practice it as it's actually the recommend opener to learn with.

    Great guide Wesk!

  9. Hyper min max but, for the lvl 70+ openers you should be using continuations in the second ogcd slot to get ur other ogcds cds rolling faster.
