FFXIV Endgame has a huge issue, both with what content is available and the lockouts and time gating of the savage raids.
As a long time WoW player, it feels kind of strange to have nothing to do at endgame and I kind of broke down on stream and had a bit of a rant. I’d love to know your thoughts on FFXIV Endgame gearing and progression.

I know a lot of statics that raid Tuesday-Thursday. That frees people up to prog ahead in the PF. I'm in a group that does reclears on Wednesday and prog on Sunday. If we're not 100% sure we're gonna clear something on Sunday, we usually give the ok to prog ahead in the pf.
YOU GET A BOOK MARTY lol just because you don't get loot doesn't mean you don't get currency to exchange for loot. Almost every mmo has weekly lockouts to limit boosting. Exchange your god damn books for loot mate lol.
Sounds like a you problem. Many mmos don't even let you rekill the boss to help your friends after the boss has been killed for the week.
you need weekly lockout… i dont understand whats with this opinion lately. if they didnt have the lockout people would finish the content that week and then never log back in. thats not good for player retention let alone making people exicted to go in for it in the first place. you can still go in nothings stopping you.. you just got your current content lockout. bruh this is the oldest concept of loot in MMOs. itll never change because that will HIGHLY change the design philosphy of the game. take it or leave it, its fine the way it is. imagine raiding in wow and getting 0 loot AND NO BOOK/token to buy the item out right in a few weeks. just makes no sense to complain about this. nothings stopping you from playing, thats just a whack mindset to carry.
Yeah endgame gearing in ffxiv needs an adjustment. It is extremely boring which is to a certain point fine since it avoids rng making people frustrated, but if you combine that with the fact that the game is marketed as this "you can play anything on the same character" and yet you realistically only get 2 or 3 classes to bis depending on your unluckiness before the gear becomes outdated, then yeah its a problem. Not only is gearing boring, but it is also extremely slow for someone that wants to play multiple jobs.
You're not locked out. Do a page or parse run. Books are loot. Not healthy for players to be BiS across the board while content is still new. Or at least it's not the devs philosophy to allow it.
