  1. Really good vid on what people don't usually say but think about, but you did say it in a very polite manner which I really like.
People have their own individual limits, and it's okay if you take more time and I guess use tools to achieve something, but in the end there is a clear distinction between people that achieve something with the "default" option, and people that use additional tools to achieve it.

  2. I just finished UCOB and we used a call out for when you get a divebomb marker or what the translation of the Nael quotes are… personally not happy with that but at the same time, I hate having to read a sentence for a mechanic. I eventually got used to reading them myself but still, that mechanic (actually the whole fight) can go fuck itself honestly.

Normally and if I could, I would run everything Blind. I absolutely love Blind runs and have a blast the first 2 days of a raid teir when the guides arent out… but then my group sees a guide on youtube and thats the end of that fun 🙁 Oh well..

  3. I only use ACT to tell the dps of players so I know who to prioritize buffs on. I can't pay attention to aoes and my gcds and people's health bars and also make sure everyone else is doing their rotations flawlessly. I guess me throwing a card on our machinist who is doing 60% the damage of our red mage isn't the end of the world but I just want to play my class to the best of my ability.

  4. Why don't you just get 7 other players who've cleared the content 100+ times and can clear it without you doing anything except pressing your rotation and telling you specifically "don't do anything" multiple times in the fight"? 🙂

  5. 7:00 this right here is what I constantly told to my static when most of them decided to use an ACT trigger during Titan Gaols in UWU to know their spot.

Yes, WE cleared the fight as a team, but only some of us chose to learn the mechanic properly instead of using a callout bot that will never be wrong. At the end of the day, it's still a clear and I don't care what they use, but I feel a lot prouder knowing I learned it the proper way.

  6. 100% agree with the whole video.

Short story, we had someone doing stellar performance in Ultimate content but they were addon and trigger addicts.
First week of new savage tier we progged, there was no addons and that person was the least consistent and we had to replace that player simply because they were slowing the group.

If you need a tool to fix your weakness, don't think you only have strengths.

  7. Only reason Im not doing savages and ultimates in FFXIV is because I feel there is no reason to. The extra few ilvls are useless. In wow I was a hardcore pve player doing progs but Im not feeling the need in ff14. Wish there were at least hairstyles or special glam items that drop from these difficulties but oh wait Im playing viera so I cant use hairstyles anyway

  8. I don't think anyone is making the argument that disabled players should be clearing ultimates. Just that they should be allowed to use tools that get them up to par with the average able-bodied player.

There's a difference between climbing a mountain and going up a staircase at a hotel, you know what I mean?

  9. Coming from WoW where the playerbase has addons to do literally everything for them and the designers have to build their fights around the addons instead of making fights challenging their way, it's no surprise these people exist in FF and other MMOs, bringing their mindset of "why should I work harder when I could automate that" without caring of the consequences and the culture it brings. Classic epitomised this to the worst degree, where literally the entire game was optimised out of being fun and instead being farm content min maxed out of existence, where dying to lose your raid buffs would cause extreme rage and quitting, all the top guilds were speedrunning using exploits found on private servers and even the most casual guilds recorded runs and checked parses to global leaderboards. Given the choice, players will absolutely optimise the fun out of their games, so I am proud Square Enix lays down the rules firm and that most players respect them.

  10. The accessibility argument for savage content is nonsense lol, thats like someone complaining they cant go pro in CS because of a disability, should the average skill level of everything else be lowered to meet where you are at? no, play and compete to the best of your ability.

  11. I agree with most of the video, but I have to say I disagree with your professor's attitude. They should be able to give an "A" to everyone if they're meeting everyone's needs enough that they're all learning the material. Grading in academics is supposed to evaluate where improvement is necessary, not "weed out" people who "aren't good enough".

  12. nice video but……………. even with base game ds3 you ONLY enjoyed the 2 gundyr and farron legion? a lot of people prefer bloodborne over ds3 and im not gonna pretend it should be everybody's favourite but cmon wtf

  13. The only addons that I personally like beside ACT are UI mods. Because as HUmans we internalize information differently and what can be easily readeable for one is not for another. If the UI customization was on par with my preference I would not even consider using addons tbh, but having a mana bar near my hp as SAM is just….. no.

Edit : I know they are against TOS and if they decide to ban me, I'll accept and move on. If I cant customize my UI I will simply stop playiing untill they fix it or another addon comes out (Delvui love)

  14. People should also realize that they should be playing with people who have the same goals as them. If your playing with friends who are bad at the game, your goal should be playing with friends. If you want an efficient group to clear stuff with, you probably won't be playing with friends who are casuals.

  15. the "disabled people can't do this content" argument is so dumb in my opinion because even tho they might have a disavantage compared to other people a lot of disabled people proved that they could still do hard stuff in video games, for exemple, fighting games are reputed to be really hard and difficult and complex and yadda yadda but when you look at the street fighter 5 community there's literally someone who can't use his arms and uses his mouth to play with the controller and he is a PRO PLAYER (his name is brolyleg), there's also a dude who is literally BLIND and he is mad good at the game (his name is blind warrior sven). now i know that fighting games are different than MMOS but imo people who makes the argument that handicapped people can't play well are just underestimating them

  16. If the addition of mods were a difficulty slider, I'd add mods to make something i cant do do-able. Then once I do it, try it again on the harder difficulty until I beat that too. Unfortunately its not a slider so no one'd just stop using mods once they beat it with mods lol.

  17. I have paralysis in my fingers so there's not a single add-on that can make FFXIV any "easier" for me. That being said, I don't mind if people use add-ons, (I personally don't) but if someone harasses me because my dps isn't up to snuff I rip into them. I'm trying my hardest, and if that's not good enough for you, then fuck off.

  18. Im a former WoW player and I like using addons to cover my weakness. FFXIV have very good telegraphed boss mechanics unlike WoW (you just have to see the cast bar and the effect on the ground being formed gradually). But while the telegraph is good the effects itself are confusing, everything glows, allies abilities glows, I dodged an ally ground effect in my MSQ alliance raid several times. Even with low effects Its not clear whats going on after the telegraph or even on non telegraphed mechanics.
I died a lot because "What happened? There was no telegraphed effect why did I died?" -"Oh you got hit with a raid wide debuff you sould jump 3 times and go to the corner of the room or you die." I didn't see the debuff being casted on me or my character had no visual indicator of being debuffed."
On wow, debuffs that kills you or your raid are displayed in the most OBVIOUS way like a big white arrow on your character, your character goes red, or grows in size, and in FF I can't see the things happening. Of course Im a new player and I'll just learn the way things looks. But addons really helps me to identify mechanics happening, I don't need them to tell me what to do, just to clarify what's happening on my screen.

  19. I use ACT on a daily, every minute i play lol… Don't give a fuck. I am NOT downgrading my experience because the devs wanted to be include console players in the MMORPG genre.
People are arguing against this shit like sheeple, not really clocking on to the fact we are discouraged from using it ONLY because console players exist. If they never made the game available for console players, everyone would be using addons and nothing would be said because it would be normal shit and everyone would love. Lets stop kidding our fucking selves here please.
