  1. I'm still not 100% on corsair. The outfit looks like it but the sword definitely doesn't. The pictomancer guess is a good one and I'm curious to see how they would do that visually. If I can't paint Ultros, I will be upset.

  2. Gigas are already in XIV. You can see them in Mor Dhona, so them being the giants is a common guess. The other possibility is Hecatoncheires (the giants from Copperbell Mines). You talked about Tural being an island? If it's an island, it's one in the same sense as Australia where it's technically an island, but it's really too big for that to be a useful descriptor. But, I think it's connected to the northern continent that's still shrouded in clouds on the map.

  3. I hope it is a melee job based on Clive's fighting style. A sword main hand and magic off hand. Imagine how cool it would be to have a magic burst playstyle with perhaps a transformation phase. Imagine a melee transformation phase similar to machinist pew pew pew phase but magic… forgot what it was called it's been so long since I touched machinist. lol (mutant mayhem clue perhaps? the part where Meteor's hood was on fire gave the allusion of bestial eyes of flame although that is a reach I admit)
As for mage, if it really is a pictomancer I hope it will be a mage class that uses both light and dark magic like in BD2. Perhaps a similar playstyle to ninja's ninjutsu but incorporated into a caster playstyle.

  4. I don’t think it’s specifically Corsair. Corsairs main thing is it gun. We now the other job is a melee dps not a ranged dps. Even if you slapped a sword on Corsair I would still view it as a ranged dps just with some melee options.
Also that gun everyone sees in the trailer is actually the sheath for his sword.

  5. I like the ff10 theory!
I was thinking the same-ish, tho not as much xD

Uh for the Gigas, they're already in the game so idk how much they could come back???
Second ARR dungeon, that's our Giants
and there's an ennemy somewhere , forgot exactly, named "Gigas" 😅😅

  6. at his point corsair or at least a similar job with scouting gear is the most likely outcome for the melee; still not so sure about the caster, the correlation all seem very weak with the little info we have but we'll see!
I'm all for more FFX representation, it's still my favorite FF game and I'd love to see more stuff from it in the new world!

  7. Still not completely sold on Pictomancer. I can definitely see the connections/clues but not sure how it could actually play & fit in as a caster class. I think the melee class will be dual-wielding melee/range hybrid. A one-hander like in the trailer plus something and wearing scouting gear.

  10. Corsair (pronounced "core-sare") in FFXI have an ability called "mayhem" and Yoshida's shirt had "mutant mayhem" on it, but "mayhem" was written much larger than the other words.
I feel Yoshida wore this shirt knowing that people would assume it was for one new job, while it's actually for both new jobs.
Also, I did not play FFXI. I just noticed how big the word was on the shirt and though "'mayhem' sounds like a FF game ability" and googled. Most are focusing on Turtles=Tortuga=Pirates=Corsair.

  11. I do have one thought that I'm sure has been talked about, but I've not seen it anywhere. The voice near the end of the trailer may be a female Hrothgar npc that we'll meet and see a lot of when we explore the New World.
