  1. I'm cautiously optimistic about Viera and Hrothgar getting new hats. Because more likely than not, we'll be sitting through another 2-3 years of only being able to visibly wear 1/3rd of the newest availbale headgear.

Saying this, because some are getting excited about Hrothgar being able to wear more hats due to the female Hrothgar appearing in 6.55 wearing one. 😂

  2. On the FFXIV 6.5 page on the official site, the Hrothgal from the trailer is in a screenshot–and she's wearing a hat.

Either they're trolling, or hats may be a thing sooner rather than later. /hopium

  3. I am looking forward to playing dawntrail. But yes my concerns are mainly job design not having any choice or flavour, most are just do this fixed rotation and repeat. Also im not a fan of the huge hit boxes too, it has driven me to drop tanking, tanks just feel like an easy to play dps now. Im hoping the information to come in the following months will address this, but i do worry they are set in thier ways when it comes to gameplay. ^^

  4. Ehh in terms of content we are getting more than ever before. Having field operations back is a huge W and we are still getting variant dungeons, Deep dungeons stuff and they mentioned a whole new battle content before. So im hyped, post Endwalker content was severely lacking especially with no eureka type content snd relice being tide to Hildebrand.

  5. There was an a interview last year that yosh-p in brazil and I dont think that will change in this expansion he said. "But the reason it's like this today is that we've received, in the past, feedback from all over the world saying that the timing of fights were difficult, it was difficult to align skills between classes, we were asked to unify everything, and precisely because we received these requests to homogenize this, we homogenized it" and : "We're okay with making things a little crazy and having different timings between all the classes, but again, we made these changes because we got feedback that it was too difficult before. We understand that there are two types of players, so going forward, Regardless of whether we change this or not, the community needs to reach a consensus: what is better? Before changing something we need to get feedback from everyone"

  6. Not trying to sound like a killjoy, but I really don't expect much new from SE on this expansion. Oh, I know they're going to release a top notch story, with another banger of a soundtrack. My biggest concern is how formulaic SE has become about their end game content. The standard 3 tiers of 8-person raids with 4 bosses in each with really good mechanics, the same with 24-person raids. New jobs with some fun quirks, but ultimately feel too similar to the other jobs because of how party utilities work. We're getting a firmament style area for gatherers, and Bozjan style are for relics for grinding (something Endwalker was in desperate need of). The end game feels like it's just missing some spice, something that will really shake up and breathe some fresh air into this content. I'm not saying SE has a bad formula for doing this content, but it's become too relied upon that it feels like there's no innovation being applied to expansions outside of the MSQ.

  7. I appreciate this discussion. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I love FFXIV and am thankful we're seeing them react and implement concepts in response to player feedback.

The biggest knock against XIV right now for me is also the homogenization of jobs and unfortunately I think we're in for more of the same in that regard come 7.0. Tanks and healers especially are in a bad spot right now where the only true fun you can have while playing T/H (outside of ultimates) is when something goes wrong and you have to maximize your kit because multiple people died or what have you.

Hopefully the job additions on both sides are substantial, especially in an xpac where we're getting two new DPS Jobs everyone will want to play 😂

Truly hoping they lean into the idea of XIV embarking on a new "dawn" from this expansion onwards, though. I'd be totally fine if we don't receive any new jobs or races come 8.0 if it meant that we got some genuine gameplay change ups. Jobs need their own identity, I think the game could benefit from a "Support" role or something along those lines, dungeons need to be more challenging. Just SOMETHING different as opposed to the formula we've been fed for years now.
