The new gap closers on DRK and DRG are very clunky. They just don't feel as smooth as any other dash. Spine shatter felt better
"Why can't this AI that is just aggregating a bunch of words off the internet without any knowledge or understanding not able to justify it's word soup???"
The only way they can make scholar bad is removing Energy Drain.
Honestly, I think most players in FFXIV choose the class they main because they simply like it aesthetically or enjoy how it plays rather than whether it's the "best of the best". Having a class be "good" rather than "great" is fine usually in this game. I'm a Dragoon main and the rework scared me. I'm glad how the class plays hasn't changed much. I may be playing Dancer for DT, however because I kind of enjoy how…well…easy it is. neither of these classes are "top tier" but I enjoy how they play. I also level Paladin for my tank class, simply because I enjoy the aesthetic, I know Warrior is more powerful, durable, and easier to play, but I just like the shield.
As long as the classes can do the job, I'm fine. From what Happy said Monk is a problem right now and needs addressing or it may get the exodus of Monk players that Summoner got when it was revamped, though for different reasons (I used to be a Summoner main and quit playing it much because it was simply boring after the revamp).
WHM is S-Tier because I can keep everyone alive and do good damage while barely even looking at the screen
dancer is S tier because its fun to play, which is the only metric that matters
TheGamer is owned by Valnet, who owns other websites such as ScreenRant and GameRant. The journalists themselves are fine, but the owners prioritise flooding search results above all else. I've friends who work for them and they absolutely hate them, and they have little say as to what they can publish. Whether or not this is A.I., the quality is consistent with what they want pumped out. I try to avoid their websites whenever possible.
Machinist S-tier? I stopped playing after Shadowbringers and a bit of Endwalker cuz I only play machinist and was tired of always ranking lowest in group DPS no matter how well I played… I'm not convinced it jumped to S-tier cuz when it doesn't look like anything fundamentally changed
It was clearly just a click bait article. However, i will say as i've always mained a whm through msq, yeeeaaah, whm just exists. Sure it can power heal through tough situations, but it's pretty much the same job it has been. The dash is…cool ig. The main thing i liked was glare 4, buuuut it being tied to pom is not something i particularly care for
As a Viper main, yeah, Slither has insane delay now that you mention it. If you use it anywhere close to an enemy, you cant do anything for way too long. The ranged attack also has alot of delay from my experience. Both of those could use some QoL delay reduction.
I'm a pld main and I still wouldn't put it in s tier. I love pld but it's not the best tank. Most fun for me though, that's what counts
This list sure was something to read 😂
On the topic of the gap closers though, I find them to be VERY clunky now. If I used my gap closer to get closer to ads in a pull it takes a sec to use the next GCD and sometimes an enemy slips past me and hits a teammate. I'll have to get used to it still but it feels a bit rough personally to use practically these days.
"Drawn like a fly to a bright light" brother I made a six pack laughing to this 😂😂😂
I almost think they should do with dark knight what they have with the regen/shield healer dichotomy.
Have either dark knight or gunbreaker gain a better focus on self-sustain and the other on resistance and shields.
Then we can have 2 splits on the tanks: fast tanks (drk & gnb) and slow tanks (pld & war), and then shield tanks (pld & probably gnb) and 'drain' tanks (war & probably drk)
In truth, S tier is whichever job you like the most.
"journalist" 😂😂😂
I enjoy Blm.., Smn is more mobile but has more odd issues
I'm enjoying the changes to BLM for the most part. Flare Star having an extended cast time feels a little bad but with swiftcast being up more often and good triple cast usage that's mitigated somewhat. Thunder changes are nice. My biggest complaint is that your leylines sometimes come off cd at pretty awkward times in your rotation, depending on the fight specifics. Like in EX2 my 2nd leyline is coming off cd while I'm almost done with a fire phase rotation so I wonder if it's just a gain to hold it until after ice phase or if I should use it with a xenoglossy and get the use with a mana font.
However, as much as the feel of BLM is, to me, much improved…I look at the stats for ex1 and ex2 and die a little inside when I see blm is doing comparable damage to *red mage*. There is definitely a reason Yoshi-P has said they're buffing blm potencies before savage. Ideally we get 20 potency on fire IV and 60 potency on Flare Star. Our lvl 100 capstone skill with an extended cast time shouldn't be doing the same damage as our lvl 80 instant cast skill. Especially when we don't have an easy way to get our 6 astral soul stacks to make sure it comes out under raid buffs.

I play ninja and monk and, once I switched to 'non-standard' Monk I LOVED it! Wondering how they're going to screw me at 7.01, if their fix will be worse than the problem.
Ninja. Still kicks butt and takes names. Very happy with the haste ability becoming a trait. Loving it as much as my Reaper now.
Man i wish they gave us our dots back for paladin :c
As a DRK main, yes. Shadowstride has some crazy delay, sometimes I’ll click it twice just cuz I’m spamming the button until I get into range, and then it uses both charges after I stopped clicking, and it feels like even after it’s done, my GCDs come out a little later than expected.
You are not correct about whm. As someone who is a main sage/whm/ast, whm feels really good at 100. I have finished both ex trials as all three and the additional movement and the capstone ability pushes it ahead of Ast. Not quite as strong as sage but in my opinion, it's in a better place than ast.
I hope SE could see this and keeps buffing bard kekw
I thought it was pretty clear it meant that Dancer contrasts with both machinist AND other more selfish DPS.
I, like others, am sure this was an A.I. written article.
Seems like they are ranking them based on how quick they got the hang of it and were able to Unga bunga open world mobs in fates lol
My own tiger list is a little skewed by weird ping issues. Some jobs have 1.5 GCDs for burst, and some of those, I can weave without issue(Red mage melee combo with Flèche and Contra-six, machinist with heat blast into Gauss round, dancer with Standard step into a Fan Dance), but others I cannot weave without clipping(machinst heat blast into ricochet, Dancer Techical Finish into Devilment into anything) and I cannot even think about double weaving Monk.
I’m fairly sure these are limitations of the PS4, but that aside, they are still fun to play, even if I cannot optimize them due to latency issues
This job isnt as strong as Picto? D tier. Lol.
All of the gap closers are absolutely laggy and clunky. I hate them.
I will say this about dark knight from a casual perspective, I’ve had a great time with it in dungeons both tanking and healing them. Whereas a couple weeks ago it was my least favorite dungeon tank
Mr. Rizz
I just switched from Viper to Machinist as my main xD
It is odd that they don't explain why the jobs are ranked the way they are, they're just explaining how they work xD
As a BLM main since 2.0…..feels BAD 👎 give me back the old thundercloud and ice paradox!
I kind of think the range increase might be on the oGCDs for movement reasons, similar to gunbreaker continuation (5 yards)
