Like… Literally just use a pipe in the statue. Done. Putting aside that this is a magical world and a magical portal as well as a magic crystal containing copious amounts of water are both plausible, this is something that can be made in real life.

In Heavensward MSQ they talk about certain water aspected crystals being able to generate water. They use it for irrigation in the Sea of Clouds. Maybe there's one such crystal in the pot.

There are plenty of fountains in wow that actually make zero fucking sense. Not to mention Nagrand Floating Islands with water pouring out of them? That doesnt piss you off but a fountain with its complete base in water, with an obvious pump system to make that work. He just wants to project how he feels about his favorite game onto the game thats making his game look even shittier rn.
Imagine playing/watching a game and seeing a place that's renown for magic then wondering how the fountain works.

tbh … stuff like this are explained in the lore, first time u get in touch with this is in The Sea of Clouds… where the use of Water Crystals get explained, to collect as an endless source of water ( which form aether out of the world to water….) but guess this dude had skiped everything he was able to and cry about the nonesence story 😀
