  1. Its actually crazy how good this pvp is. What I find annoying tho is ranged players. They always play so passively while I, a reaper, have to go in, meaning in some matches it's just me 1v3 fighting sometimes even when we engage together. People just don't realize you need to push, push, push until their team is dead and you push crystal, or your team is dead and you back up and play as defensively as you can. It's just so annoying seeing ranged in the back just standing there while I'm being ganged up on. the only player that has an excuse to play back a little is healer, everyone else should be playing as aggressive as you can. Another annoying thing is this ability that keeps on sucking me in and slowing me. That ability is way too strong. I mean not only does it pull, but greatly slows you as well? And the pull can be far. I forgot about the stupid target swappers. We get an enemy so low and for whatever reason, my teammate would swap targets. Like WHY?!

  2. The sad thing I see is that people don’t regroup even if I ping. They just respawn and run straight into the enemy 5 man instead of waiting for our respawns. That being said the Warrior LB has clutched so many games for me: LB>AoE stun>Bloodwhetting>AoE finish it off with some Fellcleaves. Keep up the great videos!

  3. #11: Pop sprint pre-match and run into the gate a few seconds before the match to get a head start – it's way faster than trying to react to the green light.
No joke, every single game I'm in, I'm the first player out of the gate because nobody else does this.

  4. Another small tip is to see what kind of macros you can make for your job. For instance I have a 5 separate buttons f1-f5 for the machinist LB to quickly snipe a target and a target macro for bishop. I also have 2 different deployment tactics on sch. One for the party, one for the enemy. (/pvpaction instead of /action for those who are unaware)

  5. I came back from a game that started with 96.x% to 0% yesterday.
I pinged the team to regroup, and they actually did (granted, the payload was right at our spawn)
Also one of our teammates is probably a first time player, seeing he got the two achievements at the start of the match. It must feel great to start off his PVP journey like this.

  6. I want to see forced team composition, like 1 tank 1 healer 3 dps instead of this random bs. Every game is a lottery (In a ranked mode where you would think randomness should be as low as possible). Furthermore allow us for crying out loud to play with our friends! What is the point of having a PvP team when you cant even que as a team? Instead me and my friends have to all play separately in an MMO? Mode is fine but it just falls short. This insane lottery introduces such a randomness to ranking and deranking its infuriating.

  7. By far the most aggravating things I’ve experienced from teammates so far are 1. what you mentioned, running around to chase kills while the enemy moves ahead with our crystal unchecked (at this point, pinging the “push the crystal!” prompt is part of my rotation…) – and 2. being completely unwilling to contest the crystal at all, even when numbers would be evenly matched or even outnumbered in our favour, and even when the enemy team is making rapid progress to our checkpoints and home base. So many of the ranged players, including healers, will spend the entire fight running around and away from people and trying to use distance as safety. That works well in frontline, but this is different. Sometimes even melee players do this when they get scared. When I see this from 2 or more players on my team, it almost always leads to our downfall, since they tend to leave the rest of us outnumbered by positioning themselves that way. I’m sure there are plenty of people who need the “don’t rush into obvious danger” tip emphasized, but at least from my personal experience in the last two days, I’d like to advise the opposite. xD The situation you explained about being one of the only ones alive, everyone else respawning and the other team is about to win – that happens a LOT!! I’ve had several cases of diving in to contest it, popping my ccs, lb, heals, and guard, knowing I will die, but buying enough time for my teammates to get there. Seen tanks do this really well too, but anyone is able to, not just them. I hope more people pay attention to when this is necessary, because it is so essential to turning the tides in this gamemode.

  8. Where is the HUD for the lodge-up trap timer and the LB guage for other players?
Would have appreciated alot if it was displayed in the vid, but still thankful for this compilation.

  9. Answering some FAQS

1/ under your HUD for "Duty", look for 'Crystalline Conflict Battle Log" this is where the countdown timer will occur, for the Cloud map lifting people into the air

2/ the LB bar for everyone, is displayed as yellow horizontal bar below job icons

  10. Tip for Dancers : Always choose your dance partner before the match. Your dash move changes some of your attacks after using it, and unlocks Saber Dance. A strong aoe move, also your LB move charms enemies and any attacks on charmed people will keep the debuff up.

And as others say use the quick chat commands to tell your teammates new info or to stay back until all of you regroup. – Happy PVPing.

  11. I'm currently plat 3 3stars, one tip I would recommend for fellow dragoons/samurai or any other dps melee in pvp is to try to help peel for your healer/ranged, you may not have the highest kill rate or dps in the end, but it helps your teammates survive which wins the fight usually as everyone can target the one melee opponent who is targeting your ranged. Another would be removing the opponent from the crystal, if you are in the advantaged side during overtime, try to bait your opponent out of the circle or for monk try to push them off, this has won me so many games because people still fail to stand in the circle even in my ranks

  12. If only PVP had a tab targeting system like Dissidia NT. Where it goes down from your target down the player list. So if you target the top player and want to go to the person at the bottom, you can either tab target down 4 times or shift tab 1 up. Just that would make things much more consistent.

Also, the respawn timer is garbage. 10 seconds to respawn, 10 seconds to regain control of your character.

  13. Countdown Macro to get the team to focus target a player if they listen he has no chance of survival with cc instant killed
    /qchat "Attacking Target"

    /mk attack5 <t><wait.1>

    /mk attack4 <attack5><wait.1>

    /mk attack3 <attack4><wait.1>

    /mk attack2 <attack3><wait.1>

    /mk attack1 <attack2>

  14. As a DRK, I gap close into the middle of the enemy grp at the start of the match , pop Guard preemptively , drop a salted earth and drag the enemy with the pepper followup. This accomplishes two things. Gives my team a chance to drop their own aoe or cc while the enemy is grouped up. Secondly, the enemy might dump some hard hitting abilities on me while I have my guard up.

  15. Brilliant list of tips for a lot of people
That has the be my biggest pet peev with ffxiv pvp. the tab targeting being so awful.
I'm not sure why they don't have more distance based options that would fix probably 90% of peoples complaints.

The guard tip is mega. i always find i'm an oh shit guarder need to fix that!

  16. everyone is posting their own tips, but here's another;
drop the old pvp mentality of needing to focus down healers first, they aren't that impactful any more. focus on players that overextend, have low hp or just don't seem to be playing well. turning a 5v5 into a 5v4 is going to throw the momentum in your favor very quickly.
