I don't know the normal strategy so I don't know why the clip is note worthy.
This is mindblowing
They got creative with vg2
Remember when Asmongold said there was only 1 way you can do bosses in FFXIV and the diversity in gameplay is why WoW raiding is better? Yeah…that didn’t age well
There has always been more then one way to do strats. It's more of its better to unify on a good easy way so reclears are constant
This seems like a really, really cheesy way to do it. Basically no uptime for whoever is baiting that outer pool – Like the warrior having to bait it at :28 and having to stand around. Usually with JP you can bait and move while still mantaining uptime
There has always been multiple ways of doing strats, its just not practical for pf
There are 2 mindsets in FF14.
1) pugs strats, which may or may not have 1-2 variations.
2) static strats. Which may have many ways of doing so, such as this example. Just not shared as not everyone streams and makes videos.
Brambles is another major mechanic that has a lot of ways to do. My team came up with one that worked for us and gave us uptime to. Meanwhile, the pugs used "happy brambles" which Mr. HAppy himself said was not optimal as it was the 1st strat they came up with to just clear. Pugs I tell ya.
Obviously, once enough people discover a more optimal way and it is actually shared through out the community, statics more so than pugs, will give them a try.
I hope people realize that the world didn't magically all decide to do jp strat during week 1 blind prog. Some groups literally did this exact strat, and even if it turned out to be really suboptimal for dps it's not as if that particularly mattered in this fight anyway with how late enrage is.
When you're blind progging it's oftentimes just better to do the strat that makes more sense to everyone in the moment rather than wasting time trying to optimize it. Outside of the final floor most groups doing world prog generally won't need that extra damage anyway.
This is by far one of the most contrived least efficient ways to do this, but it gets the job done and the boss died so gg for them.
regardless of how they do it
everyone has their own strat
but along it works and you can kill it, then you're doing it right.
PF strat is more common and safe one
Static strat is for your own static group
Parsing strat is more toward focusing the uptime and had more risk than PF
i mean…it has lesser uptime for melee, but it is made like that because someone is a black mage.
How long do they try it?
Everyone in the comments talking about how inefficient this strat is, but these same people didn’t even come up with the strat they themselves used to clear the fight lol.
This is what I like about FF not telling you in game how mechanics work. You get organig growths of several different ways one could approach any given mechanic.
As long as the boss dies, you did it right.
The more savage content I watch the less I want to try and get into them. After playing for 6 years it still looks way too intimidating. Never played savage once and probably never will.
as crazy as it looks, they did it on their own so props to them for that. i would love to see their reaction to seeing how PF does it
They did this blind and boosted. While PF forces you to watch guides or adjust to the which strat the leader want
Um no thanks lmao
Honestly, it's kinda cool to see the mechanic solved a totally different way
It's not optimized (meaning there are some easy quickfixes like standing toward the boss instead of toward the corner), but it's perfectly fine as a blind prog strat.
The correct strategy is the one that gets the clear, anything more is ego.
The figured this out on their own, which is more than I can say for the rest of us.
Hmm yes mechanics. I'm 80 but I im still going through heavensward and stormblood content.
Tbh, i dont know what so amazing about this since i dont play ff14(i wish i could but my financial cant😔). Can someone kind enough to give me short explaination?
What a mess of a game
This way seems so much easier
Blind prog is about clearing and not about being efficient… Nothing wrong with this strat considering they are doing it with a week 1 blind prog mindset… shrug
A clear is a clear. Optimized or not.
I don't play numbers anyway.
This is why I love watching the Echo team clears, the theory crafting is mind blowing
I'm so confused. What is the objective with this mechanic?
