  1. Fun fact: I never really had much chance to DELVE DEEP into the 1.0 story. I was waiting on baited breath for it to come out on PS3 since my laptop at the time couldn't handle the game… That never came to be.

  2. I defintely think FFXIV could use some more overworld content, but I think the big changes FFXIV needs to compete in the future is graphics and animations. Both New World and Ashes of Creation for example, have an edge in this department but they are not developing their games to be played on last gen consoles. Honestly, for XIV to compete, they may need to discontinue support for PS4 in 7.0 or 8.0.

    There is some hope on the graphics front, besides the already announced graphics update, we know the FFXVI is being developed using an upgraded version of FFXIV's engine, and gameplay released so far looks spectacular, so hopefully the engine upgrades make their way over to FFXIV sooner rather than later. And the inclusion of dynamic resolution for PS4 gives the devs extra wiggle room for pushing the systems limits. Just making the game look better and feel better to play with smoother, more impactful animations, and higher quality VFX will be a huge upgrade.

    My wish list for PC is ray tracing, DLSS, and HDR support. Those three things are seemingly becoming the baseline expectations for AAA releases in 2022.

  3. The thing with job balance is that it's always talked about in retrospect to Savage and never about dungeons and EX; even though changes happen to benefit dungeon like 6.1 SAM update to it's AOE.
    So when you hear people, like Xenos, super angry about the state of tank classes, in hindsight, I don't see that as a "failure" in class balance but a failure in the level design of the savage to have THAT much disparity.

  4. Oo i would seriously love something like Bozja’s critical engagements in the Open World, or even Delubrum, Castrum and Dalriada being thrown into Alliance Raid Roulette

  5. For the content that the vast majority of players actually engage in, the meta is irrelevant, so a balancing overhaul should be waaaaay down the list of priorities. Instead, efforts in this area should be aimed at overhauling the downscaling in lower level content to make it more fun and engaging (e.g., by granting us more abilities to work with).
