  1. I played this game for several years on a regular laptop on minimal settings getting 12-15 FPS. In 2018, I switched to a PS4 and it was a life-changing improvement. Now I'm trying to decide between buying a full gaming PC or just getting a PS5. Either way, I hope to someday see what this game was meant to look and feel like, because I don't think I ever have.

  2. Shadows has always been a big one for me. IMO lowering shadows even makes them look better, because shadows never look as sharp in real life as they are shown on ultra settings in most games.

  3. I’m considering getting one of the new MacBook Pros just announced for work/school/general content consumption and while gaming isn’t the main draw the new chips blow away Intel in cpu performance and gpu claims to match 3050 ti on the low end and nearing 3080 on the high end all with significantly lower power draw and better battery life than actual gaming laptops. If I pull the trigger on this computer I would love to finally give FF14 a try, I assume it would run well? High to max settings with well over 60 fps should be easy to attain I would think

  4. Low detail and occlusion culling are most effective if your VRAM is low. Like say a 2GB VRam card would benefit profoundly if it doesn't have to render stuff you don't see.
Reflections is dependant on the area you are. But this counts for all games. Reflections are a pain for the GPU.
Lots of these settings to are heavily impacted by GShade.
In general I would recommend to disable HBAO in any demanding content. If you do trials or raids.. just disable it.. it's not worth the visual gain for the fps lost impacting your performance.
    Especially on any monitor 90hz+

  5. Currently at work, looking forward to testing these out. As a 5760×1080 on sli 980 it’s always a tricky balancing act for great visuals and maintain 60fps. Thank you so much for these videos!
