  1. Worms Tail is my favourite song. Not only because Shinryu is one of the best trials in the game, but its just.. you have the oppressive theme of the Dragon.. sounds a little bit like the Garlean theme as well and then the Stormblood main Theme fights its way in there. Storm of Blood.

  2. Shadows Withal was the last straw that made me to install FF14. Youtube random algorythms be blessed.
    Anyway:
    Apologies (Sohr Khai Dungeon)
Order Yet Undeciphered (Azys Lla outdoors)
the middle part (not the whole theme!) of Serenity, which is Black Shroud's daytime outdoors theme. Found here v=7yCGVNJhAH8

  3. I love the Ascian battle theme “Thunderer” so much. Maybe because it was the first XIV song I heard when fighting Behemoth in Monster Hunter World. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t expecting it at the end of Praetorium or T5. But it always gets me pumped up to fight against something powerful. The fact that they used it all the way through Shadowbringers just makes my day.

I really like the ARR music. Saltswept just bleeds “MMO” to me, Sultana Dreaming is beautiful, all of the primal themes aside from Ifrit’s are amazing, I really enjoy the Thanalan ambient music, and Another Round never fails to make me smile.

Just because Soken has been powering up with every expansion doesn’t mean he didn’t start out fantastic.

  4. The Garuda music slaps, I’m jamming everytime I queue into that fight in a duty roulette. I also really like the Golden saucer music cause my primate brain enjoys steadily increasing my fake casino currency with scratch offs and lotto tickets.

  5. Since you didn't mention the Omega music, I'd throw in Heartless and From the Heavens as absolute bangers that really fit the culmination of the Omega storyline. Also Wrath of the Harrier is worth doing every Bozja quest twice. Fight me.

  6. amen on the ARR music being (for the most part) generic. i have a suspicion they didn't dare go too out there because of the relaunch, so soken was only able to really go off at very occasional times like the garuda fight. whereas in expansions the team was able to find their identity more (and not just in the music tbh) making a better game in the process.

that said i am offended you didn't mention return to oblivion.

  7. Only mentioning Long Fall and not playing it is a sin, but at least you mentioned it. But personally it's my favorite track in the game. Using Azys La, Omega and Alex leitmotifs while incorporating the dungeon's lore into it ticks all of my boxes. Also it's just a jam. Only downside is entering boss fights while doing the dungeon.

  8. I can't measure how much I loved Order Yet Undeciphered from HW. When I reached Azys Lla, I simply stopped using mounts there to do all quests just to have the pleasure to listen to the ambient soundtrack (I know I can turn off the mount music, but I'm that lazy too :v)

  9. I remember when I first heard Fealty (the Coerthas Central Highlands theme) it really made me feel like I was actually hiking on the Hillary Step on Mount Everest. One of the only ARR music still good alongside Fallen Angel.

  11. My favorite song from any expansion is painted skies AKA dravania forelands night theme. Something about that piano is just so beautiful.

Overall though, its insane how much good music the game has, it reminds me of the NES -> PS1 age of FF where all FF games had amazing soundtracks.
