  1. When Shadowbringers came out and you beat the main story, your two new max level dungeons were this and the Twinning (A Long Fall). It was a good patch to be dungeon grinding back then. Also yeah, the piano part of Embers is directly taken from this :p

  2. Ink Long Dry is a lot like this both in dungeon theme and style, I'd recommend getting it if you want more like this. Personally I don't like either one as they, as you so easily pointed out, don't fit the theme of, lets go kick ass in a dungeon, even if they fit the area visuals. Good songs, bad placement. And you would call this "Dungeon Theme"

  3. This track (and dungeon) is from Shadowbringers, while the track you're referring to is from Endwalker, so it was released about 1-2 years after Akadaemia Anyder I wanna say? So they're not even close chronologically speaking, and I only noticed the link after doing the Endwalker fight. Pretty wild that they reused the leitmotif, but I actually kinda get it. Very nice.

  4. The song is actually well liked. It just isnt usually the first thing people think of.

This is the jazz section of "Embers", a song you reacted to from 14 a few months ago.

And the motif itself also very prevelant in various songs.

  5. The leitmotif mentioned, and part of the piano bit is, as others have mentioned, part of the song Embers, a boss battle track that you listened to a couple months ago. The main leitmotif has been around since A Realm Reborn, way back in early FFXIV, and is often used for a specific set of characters throughout the story. Shadowbringers expanded upon their story and as a result we got this beautiful track, and then the raid tier that Embers is from in Endwalker expanded upon it even further. However the time between all three of these tracks is years apart.

Also I love the shoutout to The Consouls. I put their live sessions on every so often (usually like once a month) and just enjoy listening to it while i do other things. So i'm glad to hear you mention them as well!

  6. This arrangement is credited to Kenichi Kuroda. It's based on the Ascian leitmotif "Without Shadow" which dates all the way back to XIV 1.0, composed by Uematsu.

  7. the music flavor for this is…a call back to the 'style' of another area. like this is meant to feel like a glimse of life from another angle. really interesting in its own context. really odd to look at otherwise.

  8. Love for the zone themes? I dont know for the others but 2 zones that I love their music are Thanalan's theme (called To The Sun) and Amh Araeng's theme (called Sands of Amber). Dont know if you received requests for those, but I love how calm and soothing they are 🙂

  9. Thank God someone finally pushed one of the jazz tracks from XIV! There's more and I hope you get requests that aren't just boss fight tracks (as good as they are) because there's so much more variety!

Prays for Floundering in the Depths to get requested.

  10. Some good suggestions of 14 zone songs people adore include the likes of Painted Foothills, Drowning In The Horizon, 'Neath Dark Waters and Divine Words. 14's zone themes consistently manage to hit several vibes into a single song so I hope you do get the chance to listen to some even if not these.

  11. People need to begin requesting city, town and field themes 🙂 I'd love to hear his response to I Am the Sea or A Sailor Never Sleeps or Sultana Dreaming

  12. The song is effectively played in a sort-of 'research facility' within a utopian society, which, in the game, serves as a dungeon. (there has been a break-out of some of the creatures being researched) It is kind-of like the combined museum, aquarium and botanical garden of a university dedicated to several of the great minds that run the utopian society like a ruling council. The reason they used a section of this for 'Embers' is because the boss the song belongs to is an incarnation of one of those council members, who has their own dedicated section within the facilities of the Akadaemia Anyder. (The museum bit, actually)

  13. Art Deco and Jazz. The ancients really were living it up, man. This was one of my favourite themes in all of Shadowbringers, and you must've noticed references to this theme in Embers, the Pandaemonium 8 theme. They're related to the same character. This is like a zoology research facility from an ancient race with the power of creation, and the animals they've made have just broken out, hence fighting the whale and whatnot.

  14. You're searching for Embers, the Scream raids. What's funny is, until you said that it reminded you of something after, I never thought to put this and that together. And, I play ever day. So, this tune was a spoiler of what was to come. Unironically, the leitmotif makes sense here because it's where shit hits the fan, hence the boys running out of the facility in the beginning.

  15. A good zone theme would be the two for the colorful city of Radz-at-Han – Vibrant Voices (day) and Perfumed Eves (night). It takes you right into the heart of a bazar filled with spices and voices and mystery.

  16. She walked into my office and I could tell right away she was trouble… but then again in this town who wasn’t. She wanted me to take a case and heard I was the best in town

This song just reminds me of those goofy film noir movies XD

  17. If you want a good zone track, look up the track for the Azim Steppe from Stormblood. Its an area thats very tribal and Mongolian themed, and its, imo, one of the most beautiful zone tracks in the game
