FFXIV 6.2 Reactions Part 3: Into the Storm

Ah yes… Puja is flailing and dying, I’m squeaking and crying and Crystal’s in the background bi-panicking. Just an ordinary day for us in FFXIV. :3c

  1. I honestly felt like, and still feel like, phase two of Storm's Crown is just chaotic enough to be a 'taste' of usual EX/Savage. I've done a couple EX/Savage dungeons in the past, and it was a high-paced, at-times-chaotic-mess that required a lot of learning.

And these madlads drop 'EX/Savage Lite' on us in phase two of Barbariccia's fight. XD (I don't think I died in phase two, somehow. It's been a while, though, since I did it for the first time; maybe I did?)

Going into this patch, I hadn't known what the dungeon would be like, nor the trial. I'd reasoned perhaps Scarmiglione as the trial, as the first 'big threat' leading into a Void-centric plot. Once we got Scarmiglione at the end of Troia, though (and the boss theme to go with it), I had a suspicion it'd be another Archfiend as the trial – with the Four Fiends music as the BGM. I was not disappointed, and enjoyed it very much. I didn't do the trial right away – did it with a friend who was too tired to do it the first night – but I just AFK'd there, let the music play in the background while I was alt-tabbed and doing other things. ^^ Music's so good. (I also noticed the section of original music and thought that was a wonderful touch too. ^^)

  2. A friend of mine genuinely called out "HI I'M GAY" at that same very specific point. (Which we all knew about her anyway, but it was very important to her that she reaffirm it at that point.) Seems like buff short-haired Barbariccia is very much many women's type…

  3. Top 1 fights in FFXIV that need to calm down dear God with the She-Hulk ORAORAORA rampage and bullet hell and rubber band tethers all at the same time

    And that’s before the Extreme.

Seriously though, if Barbara got this much of a glow-up, looking forward to Rubicante. 😀
