  1. Just for context : the village and castle of Troia is a place that exists in Final Fantasy IV where all soldiers and people in power are women. As well, they are the guardians of the Crystal of Water which is why the castle itself has several waterways, fountains and the likes while also having a soft tune that gives you a "morning sun shower waltz" feel when you listen to it. But since the Troia in FFXIV is in the Void and twisted, well the music is instead creepy and "off". So yeah, having Beatrice (likely a call back to Beatrix from FFIX) as a "corrupted knight" of sorts kind of fits since if she existed in that version of Troia, she's definitively be one of its finest knights.

I did find an upload of the original SNES OST of Troia for comparison : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFMMkbu0s7U
And the DS remake version sounds really good and relaxing too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytJtnZhfu9E

  2. I think Golbez essentially became what Thordan became, a being so strong he could destroy the Ascians that controlled him. But unlike Thordan, no one stopped him, so he continued to gather strength until it was too late and no Ascian could contend with him, and no WoL could from the Thirteenth.

  3. Damn, you got the same healer I did. She's pretty toxic coming into a level 90 dungeon without doing her job quests and getting her job stone. /s
Jokes aside, I loved the 6.2 MSQ. For some reason I feel like I wanna do it again.

  4. I feel that you are on to something, especially on Zodiark. Remember that the Ascians said that the 13th was lost. But maybe, it was because the fragment of Zodiark in the 13th was absorbed by Golbez, and hence the Ascians no longer have any need of the 13th and deemed it lost.
Not sure, just my thoughts. Very excited of what to come!

  5. Oooh thatโ€™s a great guess that the โ€œprison of passivityโ€ could be referring to the 13thโ€™s moon that imprisoned its shard of Zodiark. And the the Ancient-like being having been the 13thโ€™s version of The Watcher is a great guess too. I know the devs said in the 68th Live Letter that when Zodiark was destroyed on The Source all his remaining shards in the surviving reflections were destroyed along with Zodiark, I wonder if that included the 13thโ€™s piece of Zodiark as well? Or perhaps even if the 13thโ€™s piece of Zodiark was destroyed as well, maybe it left a pit of remnant Astral/Darkness aether like Zodiark did on The Source? Maybe that will connect to FFXIVโ€™s version of Zemus/Zeromus?
Also if Zemus/Zeromus is introduced into FFXIV, I wonder if they will do a reversal of Golbez and Zemusโ€™ relationship, where in FF4 Golbez had been corrupted/controlled by Zemus, perhaps in FFXIV Golbez will end up controlling or has ambitions of subjugating Zemus/Zeromus?

  6. The statue being about Azem or at least about a hero split from Azem souls is interesting. Also I do know that Azem is always referenced as a boy or girl depending on if your character is a boy or girl. So they try and match what you are doing story wise.

  7. The music from Fell Court of Troia reminded me quite a bit of The Nightmare Before Christmas in the scenes where Jack was alone. Like you were saying, a lost romance and also a sense of longing.

  8. Something Zero said about Zenos curious me, 'Why he traversed the great expanse- why he risked life and limb… for you…'

If I remember right reaction of our WoL is 'Confusing'.

Why this line feels like Deja vu same energy as Emet mention Amourot in Talos Elevator cutscene but WoL not understand, confusing.

I think Zenos do something for you before him go back to the source.

  9. "The prison of passivity" would be Light.
To me it looks like Golbez caused the calamity in the 13th, in the process of killing one or more Ascians or WoL, i.e. the "blessed damned". And he intended to do so in order to get rid of the Light, presumably in pursuit of a world in which there is no death.
