great guide for new ppl and ppl RELEARNing since the previous patch that changed MNK quite a bit.
This guide is all well and good, but speaking as someone who only just finished HW and is still learning the dungeons and raids, I feel like it’d be better for a new player to have a “L50>60>70 rotation progression guide”, or something. Goodness knows it would help me.
Again, not that this guide is bad, far from it! But from how everything sounds, it seems very hyper-focused on maximized DPS for experienced players. Personally, I’m still trying to figure out how to weave Chakras and stuff in and out of my regular patterns during stuff like Gubal Library or the Aetherchem Factory, and I’m regularly running face-first into new mechanics.
(Also I dispute the thing on stances. Wind is a fantastic general purpose/trash mobs stance both for exploration and for dodging AoEs and things, and I’ve been in plenty of situations where the tank dies and I have to turn on Earth to play dodgetank. Aurum and Cutter’s Cry immediately spring to mind :u )
Short and simple guide. Thank you very much! Subbed also!
Thank you. I was sorta doing it right, but this clears it up. Being at lv 52 I don't have all of the skills yet, but I want to be competitive in dungeon damage.
thanks a lot, haven't mained mnk since stormblood and felt lost without maintaining GL stacks.
Great guide! I needed a big refresher since I'm coming back after these last couple patches. But I had a question. Is Anatman just not used anymore? Is there anywhere in the rotation you would recommend putting it or certain situations? Thanks
for demolish does riddle of fire need to be ticking as soon as animation starts or is it later?
i think the monk need rework for it position for example
How do you get the mask from the thumbnail? I've seen people using it but never knew how to get it
so do we still use a snaping punch and true strike and the opener?
so…i play with 200 latency, loss demo refresh in rof s drastic?
Great guide, and I also love your choice of BGM for it. (really want to know that track) Very good.
This is a great guide but I really need this written down because you’re going so fast and the music is kind of distracting. >_<
What the hell happened to GL4 fist of wind?
This is the simplest and easiest to follow guide out there. I'm excited to get until savage stuff but every other guide is really hard to follow personally. Thanks for making this.
Nice guide, thanks!
Just came back after a 5 year hiatus and was wondering how I should work PB into the rotation. Thanx for the info.
wait what..? So they removed the "poggers" 4 stack Greased Lightning, infact the whole GL is gone? Wtf i want to play monk because it could possibly be the only class with fast GCD.
Im new to this game and this job so im still confused with perfect balance. Why do we use PB to alternate between Dragon Kick and Bootshine if we can always alternate those anyways? You can use those in any form anyway right?
I have monk at 68 and I'm definitely liking it. Good to know how much I need to learn… It's even more fast paced than I thought 😳
Damn, they really gutted this job hard. Planning on picking mnk back up, even though it's no longer complicated I hope it feels good to play.
