  1. I say it every time this is brought up but my favorite part is that I actually like the new one way better, which excited me since I'm going to be playing it.

  2. It's not a fear of holes. No mental health professional worth their salt recognizes this as as fear. It's a disgust. Much like how people are disgusted by the uncanny valley. Stop calling this a fear. It's not recognized as a fear.

  3. it is strange.
that a made up Phobia which trended on Buzzfeed, has yet to be acknowledged as a Phobia, and has been determined to just be an after effect of Anxiety troubled people, is still being claimed to be a Phobia..

Regardless good on Yoshi P, to react.

  4. When Starcraft 2's devs were told by some players that the Swarmhost Zerg unit was tripping their Trytophobia they basically said "It's supposed to be gross and scary, deal with it".

  5. Thank you for reminding me of Trypophobia. I had the same reaction to that image you mentioned, it was burned into my head for hours and I just felt uncomfortable in my own skin.

  6. As much as I empathize with people who have phobias… Trypophobia is one of those 'I can't go outside' kind of things… Irregular patterns are literally everywhere, and are already existent in the game currently….

  8. Its wierd how so many youtubers identify as introverts when it is one of the more extroverted career choices you could make. I'm not saying they don't feel like shy, reticent people, but maybe the terms introvert and extrovert are a bit limited.

  9. Honestly having dealt with Lore personally and his Guild before he was hired at blizzard and his statements on Twitter after working at blizzard he is one person that caused me to quit World of Warcraft.

  10. This isn’t even considered a legit phobia. I did google it. People get scared looking at things with closely packed holes. Like strawberries. Or honey combs. Gtfo of here . Seriously this is right in line with people who choose not to eat gluten who don’t have any disease. Idk 🤷

  11. too bad there aren't simple tricks we can play on our brains to make us feel uncontrollably good…but then i guess we'd get nothing done in a day 😀

  12. I heard this story with the Sage icon at around the same time as the removal of /spit in Clasic TBC, and I can see this as an example of the fortunate position Ff14 and Square are in vs Wow and Blizz.

Both of these changes are fairly minor all things consitered. I doubt more than 5% of the playerbase of ff14 actually has Trypophobia or felt offended that they were getting constantly /spit on in Wow. Where FF14 succeeds in this though is that Square could afford to make a change like this to get more good will and press. Where as Blizzard are not only in the middle of a lawsuit that is buring what good will they had left to the ground, but have even bigger gameplay problems in TBC and in Retail alone that they could of spent time on instead of removing a 15 year old emote because it hurt someone’s feelings.

  13. I think humans are supposed to be repulsed by things that look like wasp nest or insect burrows. They are signs of filth or danger. Seeing insect swarm burrows everywhere is kind of weird
