Raiding Noob Blind Reacts To The Omega Protocol Ultimate! FFXIV
Today’s video was a really cool watch for me as i’m often in absolutely awe about how higher tier content is cleared and TOP was no exception. I made a promise to myself that I would clear one of these in the future!

Im working through my first unreal, about three hours a week and its just. Exhausting. But so rewarding whenever you hit that roadblock hard enough to finally go past it. I was a noob and last year i decided i was going to start raiding, it has been a slow process but like i said… so rewarding. Nice video!
The Omega Protocol physically melts my brain no matter how much time I study it. You can only learn so much through watching, once you’re in there yourself it’s where you dance the dance of death. And I can’t get enough of watching people do these, it’s genuinely mesmerizing to see them make it look so seamless.
In most Ultimates, you can get away with a person dying here and there and it's "k". In TOP, not so much. The majority of the mechanics are built with body checks in mind meaning you need all 8 players to correctly resolve the mechanics and to be able to properly split and share damage accordingly. It also has a layer of difficulty in that in the final phase, you get a buff that lowers the amount of damage you take from the boss, so if you die and lose the buff, every subsequent attack be it small or big will instantly kill you which most of the time, means your run is over. There is very little you can do to recover from a death. To say TOP is a grueling fight is kind of an understatement in many ways because it requires absolute perfection from all 8 players.
Not to mention that a lot of the mechanics are reactionary, meaning that when the mechanic comes up, you're figuring out how to go to the correct locations quickly and effectively while reading the map and getting there without tripping over yourself and others as there are also mechanics that have a "pass" mechanic that you cannot arbitrarily do.
In many ways, doing TOP is like a College Exam. There's a lot of studying, a lot of practicing and anything lower than a 95/100 grade is considered a fail.
it may seem like alot but speaking from someone who cleared this fight if you really want to dip your toes into harder content in this game you just gotta take the leap i went from not raiding at all till the second savage tier of endwalker to clearing this just gotta jump in and try it out it really feels super worth when you clear it for the first time
Ultimates always look overwhelming when you watch. I imagine it’s because your trying to process what everybody is doing, but if you focus on what you alone are doing it becomes not as intimidating. It’s also important to remember this is after hours of trial and error. It took me and my group 3 months to get our first clear.
Omega is the fight I'm currently progging, and while it looks like hell trying to even understand what's going on, it's very scripted. Once the fundamentals are understood, the whole mech becomes easy to do, it's just a matter of when, who, and where. The first playstation marker mech in phase 2 is called party synergy, and is one of the fastest mechanics of the fight. However, every mechanic is able to be broken down to it's bare necessities by person. "If you get this, you do this". I personally love this fight because it teaches and expects personal responsibility. It is not your job to say understand what the other person does in party synergy. If everyone can do it right, you win, if not, you die. My team is currently on phase 3 prog after only 2 weeks, due to studying, and understanding the fundamentals
