Between its critical cultural context and taking Jobs in a fresh direction, Dawntrail represents FFXIV treading new waters while staying true to itself.
For the first time in 11 years, the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is embarking on an entirely new era for its story arc. Dawntrail sets its sails for completely separate regions filled with cultures and histories never seen in the game’s long history–you can gather as much from the intro cinematic or the several Live Letters from director and producer Naoki Yoshida where he’s talked extensively about this new journey. We had the chance to play an early preview build of Dawntrail, and while there wasn’t any major story content, experiencing the land of Tural itself already told so many stories.

would have been great if Downtrail release with Spanish localization and server too, also a new start for new players from 7.0 and on
Excited to see FFXIV exploring new frontiers with Dawntrail! Can't wait for the new jobs and stories.
I just finished Heavensward. This game has pretty much taken up most of my gaming life, what a great game
In before the wild and baseless accusations from the usual suspects that the consultation company SE used was Sweet Baby!
Do you still need to play the piano for your rotation? The last time I played you needed to keybind your keybinds. Other than that the game seemed pretty good.
Lol they consulted a "how to not be racist" firm. Yep, Japan really could use help on the whole racist thing..
Still finishing Endwalker. Got back into the game after 3 years. I love the Aztec/Mayan feel of Dawntrail though and can't wait.
they went to external company sweet baby inc rip ff14
Them saying they want to focus more on job individuality to reduce the homogenization is a breath of fresh air after Endwalker's job design. I really hope they continue in that direction.
So they went to an ESG/DEI company to make sure they didn't put anything in the game that the "modern audience" wouldn't find offense.
The fun part of the fantasy genre is creating new worlds and cultures that don't necessarily have to reflect our own. That what's makes it unique. When you start too much of the real world, history, cultures, and societal norms, you water down what it was that makes the fantasy experience. You destroy the escapism.
For new player do you need to start from the earliest point (since beginning of FF14) or you can start right in the latest zones?
