  1. You have to finish the level 10 job archer quest which will let you unlock and do other combat and non-combat jobs.

Disciple of War (DoW) gear is for non-magic classes; Disciple of Magic (DoM) gear is for magic classes.

FATEs give you experience, gil, and Grand Company seals. You will be level synched down if you are too high leveled for the FATE. Click on button to synch down in level and participate.

In general I have not seen any quest have you kill more than 3 to 9 enemies for a quest, so don't feel too bad about killing them (even if cute).

Pipira is a fish you can catch in the game. "3/99" – 3 is the quantity you are receiving, 99 is maximum number in a stack.

Lavender Beds is a player housing area. Houses are slightly easier to get but still tough to get. On left of that screen, you can choose an area to go to and click on the button on bottom to go to it.

Each starting zone has a housing area associated with it. A Realm Reborn has 3 starting cities each with its own housing zone. Stormblood, 2nd expansion has Shirogane in the city of Kugane, serves as the player housing area. 1st expansion city, Ishgard, also has a recently opened housing zone called Empyrium.

Houses start at 3 million gil for a small and there is a lottery system. One thing you should know is that you need to log on to your house periodically or ut will be taken away and put up for auction. Each housing area has apartments for 500,000 gil. These are yours forever.

If you join a free company (think of it as a guild) it is 300,000 gil for an apartment.

  2. Fates, the blue circles in the general area, are random events and there are several things you can get out of it, in different levels of the game. But right now, where you are they are mainly extra xp( which you don't need) but they also give currencies that are used in several areas of the game for fun stuff, oh and achievs! There are also rare FATES, and even some can be triggered by certain actions in the game, its pretty fun to delve into it, but again it's tottally side content, in my experience, people come back to it later, when they can solo stuff and so on.

To the second part of the question, the only way to get out of a fate is to be overleved, then, you can only partake in it if you click that yellow button to auto adjust your level to it. Well that and running away xD.

Also just an extra, a LOT of them are easter eggs of other games.

  4. Dancer is my main job/class on my main character on NA. When you hit level 60 on any class/job you can unlock dancer. 🙂
If you say transmog most people will understand what you are talking about. To unlock the glamour system you will need to get to Thanalan, Vesper Bay, & there is a woman sitting in the middle of town w/ a blue+ quest marker. One is for unlocking dying & the other is the glamor. To unlock them you need a crafter or gatherer at 15 or 16.

  5. Good thing to know: If the enemy has a blue mark next to it's name, it's neutral and will only attack if aggroed. Enemies with a red/yellow mark next to their name means they WILL attack you if you are NOT 11 levels above their level. Also you need to touch the huge blue crystals in the future so you can teleport to them (using gil). Also the small crystals in Gridania. They are free to teleport tho.

  6. Don’t stress eventually you’ll find a group of gamers and you’ll hear words you never thought you would hear uttered, your slowly falling into the grips of immersion and you have no idea how much your going to cry throughout the storyline.

You got this though take one quest at a time and as you progress you’ll look at secondary classes, you will find tanking DPS and Healing much friendlier here then wow, so much wholesome content amazing soundtracks and fights and transitions that are iconic. Keep going lady!

  7. you can also use the purple return button on your hotbars to teleport to Gridania for free. It has a cooldown but you can also right click the Aetheryte in Gridania and set it as a Free Destination^^

  8. To glamour (transmog) an item, you need to have a copy of it whenever you apply the looks to a different item. Either having the item in your inventory, or by putting the item in the glamour dresser in the Inn in town. (You probably have not have unlocked this yet).
If you get rid of an item and then later want to apply it later as transmog, then you would need to get another copy of the item first.

  9. Hi, I just came across your channel and I am really enjoying watching your video's! As to when you will get you're fist mount it will be at lvl 20 but it's through one of the blue quests that you are made to do through the MSQ. So when you do hit lvl 20 you won't be able to get the mount until you get far enough in the MSQ.

  10. If you are a bit reserved about doing instanced content like dungeons with other people. Don't worry, there will be an option to do them with NPC's.
    ____________
Q: How to use word glamour?

A: If you see anything that looks nice, it's glamor (even if the stats are good or bad).

"What a cool glamor piece", "Ooh I want this weapon for my glamour!", "I want to glamour armorpiece (A) with this (B)."

Most people just shorten it to "glam". When you see someone with a cool outfit "Ooh that's nice glam!"

FATES automatically activate if they are the same level as you. (FATE lvl10, you lvl10)

If not, they just have the side pop-up saying "Level Synch". Pressing it will make the enemies target you if they see you.

So just avoid them, or try to do them if you want to level up a bit.

They're not super difficult, but can overwhelm you if you attack (or aggro) too many enemies at the same time. When you get higher level they no longer automatically activate.

For the Quests and the orange circle areas on the minimap, it is often confusing what the quest is asking you to do there since it's just a circle on the map.

But opening the quest fully from the sidemenu and pressing the "map" button better highlights where to go and if there are some items in that area you need to pick up for example.

But in general; If its a large area of orange it usually means there's either NPC's, items OR enemies within that circle that you need to find, collect or destroy.

Housing is indeed thing in FF14. But to get a house is a bit difficult, but you can decorate most of the estate you own, Exterior and interior.

Later on in the game (if you reach that far) there is something similar to that available for free which I am certain you would enjoy, but it takes 3 expansions worth of playtime.

You were so close to seeing the houses. There was a button in the bottom left corner to "visit this ward" and you get to travel into Lavender Beds.

But yes, the small houses are usually 3million gil and you have to apply to the lottery every week to get a chance.

  11. Hey Cozy, your gleefulness is genuinely intoxicating. I wish I could enjoy games the way you do (I'm a grumpy ol' gamer…).

Just a tip if I may, I noticed you didn't attune to the Crystal in Bentbranch (next to the baloon). And I think you didn't attune to the little crystals in Gridania either, right? You should get those so you can teleport around the city (for free). Oh and when you need to go back to the city you should use Return instead of Teleport (because it's also free).

    Stay safe. Cya. ^^b

  12. Mog in XIV from a WoW players perspective is a bit of a nightmare and will get some getting used to. We don't have some kind of book where you keep everything you touched unlocked and fornuse at any time, instead you have to put pieces you like into a limited space glamour dresser, which is where you set up your "glamour plates" as well that you can then use on your character. If it sounds complicated, that's because it kind of is, you can always look up a video for this but for now, if you like any piece of gear, don't throw it away.
As a sidenote, I am not sure if anyone spilled the beans yet considering you're still very far away from being able to access this piece of content but once you do manage to beat endwalker, you gain access to something called "island sanctuary" it's your personal island, you tend to crops, catch and care for animals and build a hideout area, I have a feeling that would be something you'd enjoy, so consider that a carrot on a stick I present to you 😀

  13. Also a couple more things.
Housing will be difficult, most houses available for personal use are usually sold out, not to mention those who are not are only available via a lottery system where you put the payment down, as will other people and one random player will win the house, if you don't win, you get all the money back but yeah. Seeing as you play on a brand new server, you might have some housing available to you still, but those might be gone soon. Free company housing on the other hand is usually available, free company is basically a guild, so as a workaround, you could eventually make a guild and buy a guild house for yourself.
And one small thing, any pet you see in the world that players gave out, you can emote at them with /handover, which "feeds them", they'll run to you and do a little eating animation. Of course you can do that with your own pets as well once you get some.

  14. Some head cannon to help you across Eorzea: you don't really kill any creatures you attack. You only send them to the eatheric flow to chill a little until they feel refreshed again, then they return to Eorzea, or respawn.
