A terrible Story so far. But it's only the beginning of a new Era / Addon, so just lets hope that it becomes better.

All you need to know is that Natsuko Ishikawa, the story writer of the previous expansions,did not work on this.
I have 15k hours in this game and Dawntrail is by far the worst expansion ever, the story is terrible, it's just a load of fetch quest, and the new zones are lackluster, guess that what happens when you change the writer etc, after completing the MSQ I log out and canceled my subscription, ffxix has lost its way big time.
A bit slow but i enjoyed it, at least liked it more than endwalker but shb and heavensward are still the best
Absolutely in love with Dawntrail so far! The zones feel better to explore than ever, the story is a welcome shift after the spike in stakes from Endwalker, and the gameplay is the most fun I've had in an MMO in a HOT second. I'd probably rank it in the middle of the other expacs storywise, but the character writing and themes continue to be wonderfully delivered and strong overall 😊
