I think they were setting up Alphy death since ARR I feel like because who was there at the first cutscene? Who was there to pick you up after the bloody banquet? Who was all along thru Stormblood? Twins were the first choices to see in Shadowbringer. It may have been Alphy for your first choice. He's been with us like glue. Not to mention person who has the last word in launch trailer dies. Alphy will have the maximum impact for death candidate. This worries me a lot.
It probably doesnt show Alphinaud in the end of the trailer cause the characters we are seeing are from his perspective not ours.
Like Alphinaud has no reason to appear there when hes thinking of his friends and such who helped him along the way.
