hmm so i played back in 2013 when the first ps3 beta came out and its just a "network stress test" type beta everyone should still be on the same servers so they should be able to play with friends still, also hopefully the game pass is only for the beta and once it actually comes out and is a buyable thing it might just be like ps4/5 where you purchase it and expans and that's it.

I also feel that the majority of people who have an Xbox have Game Pass. The reason why they are asking existing players to not participate in the "beta" is due to them using the free trial version of the game. You can't use an existing account on the free trial version. I'll be participating but I'll have to create a dummy xbox account with a new dummy SE account. Apparently Xbox Users get to skip the log in screen though.
I'm a PlayStation PC user but when I play Free to play games for an extended period of time I usually cancel my PlayStation Plus subscription to save money because I'm not exactly a wealthy person…

I guess you're right about the first topic. I honestly kinda forgot people DO play other games. I'm rare in the fact that I play ffxiv almost exclusively. Even as a PlayStation player. So it made me think of a situation where I was forced to pay for ps+ to play ffxiv. Which most people on PlayStation are paying for both anyway, but for me and my rare care, I couldn't care about any other game on PlayStation other than ffxiv so ps+ would be useless to me. Transplanting that over to gamepass, it makes sense that people are probably not crazy like me and do play other games that aren't xiv
They don’t want current players to join in on the trial because of congestion issues. Trust me, this is the right decision. Participation numbers don’t mean anything if people can’t log in. They had congestion issues with the PS3 beta and PS4 betas so this makes sense.
f2p games on xbox dont require gold xbl to play online, paid games do. its that simple. ff14 isnt an exception in that rule
