I think Yoshi P's apology spree is in part due to how much the game has exploded in popularity. I can't imagine the amount of stress it's put on that man
6.11 A was desperately needed. Ranged DPS classes were pretty bad since Endwalker and this is especially true with the new limit break stuff that heavily favor melee DPS classes too. The problem with PvP has always been the sustain and the new actions available make that aspect of the game worse than better. Some people like this, but I feel that the general populace hates it and wishes that PvP had less heals in it.
I'm not sure what Xenosys did this time around, but it sounds like his anger is getting the better of him again. He can be toxic as hell on his stream and he has gotten banned for it before and then rage on Twitter about not knowing why he got banned.
It’s best to take Xeno as an entertainer rather than a huge part of the discussion. I’m not saying he’s full of crap – I love his content! But when he flies off the chain? That’s entertainment, kids. If it upsets you, then oh well.
I think blm being op for 2 weeks is fine. It generates more excitement for crystal conflict
I think the PvP team (different from PvE) is simply not used to the current popularity of it and whatever the protocol for balancing they had was inadequate for this new mode (no role requierements), complains are louder this time, YoshiP is probably happy people actually care about PvP in FFXIV and wants to be on top of it, so this "extra" patch was greenlit. So maybe changes in PvP Q&A or the balancing protocol? Either way, the internet mob prefers to think YoshiP just walks into the dev room and goes: "Buff BLM, that's an order!" …."Sir, yes, sir!" 🙄
Neither side should be defended.
I didn't know FF14 had a letter patch before, you can like anything tbh, and the best thing about balance is imbalance. Let me explain why.
In a game where everything is balanced and fair, nothing has a true advantage and even if you do in this scenario it ends the same. Tic Tac Toe is a game that's weirdly not about winning, but about not losing. When you and the opponent understand the rules neither player wins. Player 1 with 5 moves tries to win and player 4 with 4 moves tries not to lose. I say this because for you to win in 4 moves as player 2 player 1 don't understand the game well enough and the same for player 1 with 5 moves. if they both had 4 or 5 moves the board might need to change or just be something entirely different.
What I wrote might not make sense, but try it out. The other thing is how can you know you've gone too far if you're afraid to take a step? I can walk down the hall and progress if I'm not afraid of a mistep, so to that…these things happen 😎
Sorry, I just can't get behind Xenos in anything. The man has the biggest dude-bro personality and has proven to be very toxic at times. Literally blamed the dev team for delaying Ultimates during the height of covid and said the disease wasn't a big deal as millions have been dying from it. That made me never want to go near one of his vids again, no matter how skilled he is at the game. He puts out some reasonable suggestions, but the way he goes about it is.. bad.
Xenosys Vex is first and foremost a raider. He runs Savage and Ultimate almost every day, on multiple characters, for hours and hours on stream. So he will skip story to get to the raids.
It wasn't until his chat kept pestering him to play the story and at the same time he had made a new alt to raid in party finder where he said "okay chat, I'll go through MSQ on this alt but we need to do it in a week.". This alt was meant to be a meme to show what the pf experience is like. But what we got was Xenosys actually getting into the story and feeling invested and asking his chat questions about characters and now Xenosys loves the story. He's a fan.
He will absolutely skip story first day of a new patch everytime to get to the raids because he's a raider. But on his alts he'll run MSQ with his chat and he has said it's been some of his favorite streams.
People who feel like they need to gatekeep Xenosys out of MSQ content because they feel offended by his personality need a reality check. The real world is full of assholes you won't ever like. But you need to coexist regardless. Cry harder, let it out, change your diaper and move on.
As an avid player of 14, We as a community are still on this? who the hell cares how someone plays? They wanna skip cut scenes cool let em and shut up..
6.11A was needed for the housing lottery fix. The PvP piece was unexpected and questionable, yes, but I don't see this as a bad thing as this wasn't a "working as intended" situation as from other games on this genre.
My dog stepped on a B.
