  1. My static and me are going tonight, we are not going blind we look what other people are doing, but the fights seems to be very fun 😀
we hope we can clear the 1st and 2nd circle today.

  2. Yoshi P was asked about supporting officially a race to world first and he said that it's probably not going to happen for this reason: There are players who play on PS4 and PS5 who can't use addons. If they do an official race to world first then everyone will need to be on equal footing which means they would have to aggressively ban teams that use addons. He doesn't think the community wants that.

  3. I think the FF14 team will not get involved in RWF because there are too many factors involved that cannot be controlled so simply because the foundation of the game.

This game is on console. Therefore, PC players can and will use their advantage of using 3rd party tools in the race that console players do not have access to. It also would not be wise to come out and say no console players can participate, from SE's perspective. Unnecessary bad PR. This alone is enough to for the dev team to not to involve themselves in RWF.

Also, Yoshi-P has said the game is intended to be played without the use of 3rd party tools, unlike what I have heard about WoW (never played WoW, Max and Scripe said this). But Yoshida-san knows players use them and they don't have a way to make the playing field level.

So it's most likely best this way.

  4. yoshi p said he doesn't like the idea of making the world race official because then he'd have to be more clear and strict about third party tools, for example you can bet every world racer is using act, , and I highly doubt any of them would give it up, (rightfully so) so if yoshi made the race official he'd have to acknowledge it, this and other complications like console and PC again because of act and other programs, like everybody uses shadowplay to review pulls, but if you are on console you may not be able, is shadowplay a third party tool then?

  5. Yoship has said its difficult to do an official worlds first event or whatever, because they almost all use damage meters/third party add ons which cant be overlooked in official events.

  6. The JPN servers must be hyped over Savage, the worst queue I got on day 1 of early access was about 900 people and most days its 10-30 people. Last night after the patch, instant 1500 queue and when I loaded in, holy hell, the aetheryte in Radz at Han was just lag central with all the people at the vendors and the tradeskillers.

  7. What's impressive is the Global launch of a patch. Something blizz could never do. And the true blind prog too. Everyone had only speculation from normal.

I can't wait for this weekend when my group goes into savage.

  8. I had fun, once I got people to understand my fairy being dead center was more then style choice. I decided after leveling bothe sage and scholar im still a sch main. There are few things I find a satisfying as a big raid wide doing nothing.

  9. Been doing raids "blind" since ARR. This is why I love the raids in FF14.
I never watch world 1st races due to this reason. The only time I ever saw a bit of streams during a race was for UCOB because I didn't have a team and it was the newest difficulty and no one knew what to really expect from it. It was a fun 2 days I watched, but after that, back to doing my own thing, with my groups of course.
Glad you're having fun and after hearing about WOW raids and their preview patch way of doing things, I felt bad for you guys because it must kill the excitement a bit since you already know what to do. I guess it is more of a "gimme my gear" mentality vs the experience. Idk, I'm just glad FF14 has been doing it this way since ARR, when I started playing. I do wish they would add a 5th fight to each tier though.

  10. This is the type of gameplay I'm shooting for when I get deeper into FFXIV and join my first FC. I very much want to experience difficult raid content blind, for the same reasons you stated, being a former Mythic raider myself. Insightful video 👍

  11. My static does blind prog too ^^ we only have time on weekends though, so gotta actively dodge fight spoilers sometimes haha. I doubt there will be many surprises compared to normal modes though.

  12. Honestly I think the lack of a ptr is a big part of why ffxiv players are so much more accepting of wipes and learning. Everyone gets to go in fresh and try to figure out the mechanics, so they know what that experience is like and look forward to it, so seeing others struggle is a sign they’re getting that experience too

  13. I'm always the nervous guy in a group, so I will watch guides ahead and try my best not to die. This is the first time I've been "current" and although I am not quite ready, I think I may finally try savage raiding this time around and maybe even do some blind prog for future tiers if I can find a static. Looks like lots of fun for sure.

  14. Spoiler alert:

Thoughts Per Second took world first again. The funniest part was when someone said “let’s kill this boss. I wanna go to sleep” and then they killed it.

  15. Yoshi P said in no uncertain terms from a question at the media tour that they would not get involved in the world first race because third party tools are used (ACT) which are against the TOS and they would essentially have to ban everyone being shown to use them if they were directly involved. To my knowledge as a non-WoW player, they are also not directly involved in the world race and it’s instead other companies that injected money into the scene which is why it’s a big spectacle.

  16. If I remember right Yoshi said he would not get involved in the RWF because the game is not about the raids. It is about the story. The biggest issue with wow is the urge to rush through the content to be "the first." It takes away from the core of the game and puts people in the mindset of just rushing everything. Which in terms leads to an extreme in the community. While yes RWF is fun to watch IT SHOULD NOT be promoted by SE because of what it brings. I mean just look at the wow community vs ff14 community. I think the RWF should only be handled by the community that is interested in it.

Being a wow vet since 2004 I will say you do not want RWF to become what wow has made it.

  17. Blind prog with my FC was fun!! We almost killed our raid leader with laughter. We used our main tank as waypoint and had deal with our Sage having monitor problems. The fact we got so far in small time we had was amazing through. Can't wait until we can all go back

  18. I'm relatively new to the FF14, and I've never done any savage raids. How does one find a permanent party for this kind of raiding? Or are you picking up a new party every time you go in?

  19. world first wont happen officially since Yoshi wants the game to stay non-toxic and such races would create toxicity among the teams, especially where there are special titles or other things involved as reward
