  1. I just want to say, the spell Comet was added to FFXI as a level 94 black mage spell, so that could make an appearance… As far as what it would look like or how it would fit in, I have no idea. But since Meteor is already the LB3, the "lesser" version of that in most Final Fantasy games is in fact Comet.

  2. I have no clue if it would actually be fun but something I’ve had in my head for a new ability in DT was something that consumes a polyglot to transform your next x number spells into higher echelon or enhances your next leylines cast somehow. Allowing you to choose between a still high PPS instant use of polyglot, or sacrifice that for slow casting even higher PPS.

  3. Lower level BLM sux? Yes soloing POTD and HoH with BLM does indeed suk, can confirm. Not sure about any reworks but I would like one or two additional spells or abilities added on the way to 100. No major rework hopefully. Game play at max level is at a good spot I feel

  4. upgrade scathe to ff12 scathe! or give stacks and make it ogcd that refresh at a reasonable rate. like little scathe turrets. make thunder 3 and fire 3 retain stacks so we don't have to waste procs? like bloodletter for bard

  5. Good vid. Good takes. I had a dream that they added a sort of high fire 4 which was a combo spell of fire 4, same mana, same cast, more potency. I was sad because it meant i needed to run faster sps to get more 4f4 lines instead of the usual 3f4 and i couldnt hot f3 without f3p. I dont think they would do that, blm not having combos is pretty core to their stuff but now that we have enhanced flare from hf2, who knows.

  6. Regarding the point about MP ticks and being inconsistent, I like that it's inconsistent and somewhat esoteric. I'm not a pro raider or anything like that, but when you play the job for long enough you start to feel the rhythm of the MP ticks. You can almost tell when you need to cast a filler spell in ice phase and when it's OK to just immediately start casting Fire III. Obviously, for optimization and parse runs, this is unacceptable, but I see it as a form of skill expression, or job familiarity. It's true that having to rely on an add-on for perfect optimization isn't ideal, though, but surely there's a better middle-ground than tying MP ticks to ice phase spells.

  7. Good vid ! You mentioned a wider AOE radius but I wonder if they could make is so the AOEs either don't require targets or still launches when the target dies during mob pulls..

  8. I also expect blm to get more in line with the 2min meta, same will happen to drg and ast with reworks. All the "niche" jobs will sooner or later get that treatment. Bard, ninja and blm are the highest contenders for such reworks imo

  9. Hopeful Moogle wants all AOE ranges to originate from the target's hitbox rather than center pixel, a stronger DoT, and something to allow us to avoid clipping in our opener. Maybe something similar to Soulsow?

Cynical Moogle expects High Fire/Blizzard IV, Enhanced Amplifier, and some kind of Blood Lily type ability that comes online after three uses of Polyglot stacks.

  10. Considering Leylines in fantasy are typically lines of energy that run throughout the world, I think it'd be neat if instead of creating a single big circle under you, Leylines was changed to create multiple smaller circles all around the area. Then you're not as heavily punished for having to move around the arena, but the circles being smaller would also mean you still have to think about where you're moving and getting back to a circle as soon as possible. Not really sure how Between the lines would work with that, maybe it would just move you to the closest one or something.
