I completely agree with the WHM info; like you with Holy Priest, WHM is the one I recommend people try first (which helps that it's a starter class as well)
SCH and shield healing on the other hand confuses me.
Oh, and AST is a lot of fun so I look forward to seeing what you think of it
I think making these comparisons in positive lighting like this is really healthy for the communities!

I was a HPally in WoW for…15ish years and SCH felt the best healer for me.
Spot healing, strong mitigations, and amazing utility.
Though right now: thicc ass deploys and party sprint is amazing!
I main SCH, it's very fun, the range being able to place the fairy and have your fairy skills hit from there while you do your thing on the other side of the arena, the insane synergy with other jobs like Bard, in EW if they use their healing buffs on the tank along with you and you use Recitation, your Adlo shield and then Deployment Tactics, you can literally make shields on the entire party as big as their whole HP bar. It's not nearly as straight forward as WHM but it's very fun and rewarding. Anyone that plays healers in other games, I def recommend trying SCH.
