  1. I don't play FF14 but it makes me happy to see how much love that game gets by the devs and fanbase

Off topic but, I like Woolie's shelving that's behind him and that display case

  2. I want to get back into FF14, but as a filthy casual who hasn't played in ages, I'm worried I'll bring Pat level rage onto myself trying to (re)learn everything. -_-

  3. Lore dudes are rumoring that the story after 6.0 might focus on uprisings in Eorzea, hinted by 5.4 reminding us that the current leaders of the nations leading past the normal amount of time because of the war with the garleans, and people are becoming a little restless

  4. It makes sense for them to make a definite "end" for ff14 since they gotta work on ff16, ff7r and the other games. That way all they need for 14 is someone to make sure the servers run until their next MMO

  5. I kinda hope that even though Bread Man made some of them we the 8 mans isn't focused on primals to strongly. There's bound to be done creation magic in there though I bet.

  6. Its not gonna be a pirate because they said it's gonna use maiming gear and a pirate wouldn't fit wearing the regal dragoon gear. Plus we already have machinist and I don't think they're gonna double up on gun glasses, we had marauder which was essentially pirate w/ an axe, and a simitar isn't really distinct enough from PLD swords.

The only thing that makes me think it might not be a sythe exactly is that the botanist's secondary tool is a sythe and that could cause some confusion with the naming.

  7. I like how when Pat starts talking about FF14 Woolie engages with him in the same way a man might engage with a monkey at the zoo, throwing out patch notes like peanuts to make the monkey do more funny things.

  8. Tried real hard to like this game, but failed. It is too boring. Boring story, boring gameplay, boring fashion, boring mounts, boring events.

I attempted to power through msq because it supposedly gets good at some point, but it was so bad that I purchased the msq skip thingie for real cash. Running between 3 characters, having to look at loading screens and animations that lock you in place, just to read some exposition was not something I enjoyed.

Gameplay was even worse as it's literally just pressing buttons in a certain order. Grinding the PARTY ONLY dungeons killed me inside. If it wasn't for poorly explained boss mechanics I would do those with closed eyes. And I kind of did, because you only have to run through each dungeon once to learn it. Open world and event combat is no better, in some cases even worse. Most classes are unable to solo important content and it makes progression feel useless, because you're railroaded to "success" and forced into playing with other people.

Mounts have the quality of early car mods for Fallout New Vegas. Collision blocks with different shapes sliding across the world. Early game fashion is non existent and late game fashion didn't wow me either.

Maybe I expect too much from MMOs, but GW2 managed to pull off most of the things I mentioned. I came into FF14 expecting it to be even better, but instead I learned that people really enjoy memorizing buttons and watching drawn out cutscenes.

  9. Okay, so a lot of people are predicting that the new melee DPS job is going to be "Necromancer" and have the Scythe as the weapon.

I will make a bolder claim, and say that the new melee DPS job is going to be Beastmaster. Instead of "taming" pets like the Hunter does in WoW, the Beastmaster will take on the aspects of various beast NPCs. Like a mix of Monk and Summoner.
