I think they see it as easy content to make, so even if they can't stand FFXIV, there's an apparent market for them to dive feet first into. It's a win/win for them

I don't know if it is a good or bad thing. in Wow the developers listened to much to the small loud minority, And then turned totaly around and does not listen to any critisism of its players anymore. If the loud minorty starts demanding changes to FFxiv that the majority that just plays the game does not want. it can be very negative. i changed to FFxiv was tired of having a second jobb instead of a nice place to wind down after work. So is it that i got 15 years older. that i enjoy FF style more than wow i cant say but i love the low toxicity in FF and hope this is enforced eventho there will be huge increase of players.
The FFXIV community is not filled with a bunch of saints either. I Like the game and bought it, the first guild i was invited to, i got in voice chat, and on my second voice chat session, some of the veterans were openly saying the n-word and giggling. It made me unconfortable.

Is this about content creators being threatened by more popular creators or players from another game? I mean the population of ff14 has more than doubled recently if the numbers are to be believed. You can think what you want about new players or where they're from but, the sprouts might just be the majority on your server already if not soon so it's not like they need or expect anything from you. Annecdotally it seems to me that most people are happy to see their server so full and it's only the content makers that say anything about this being a bad thing. If you've been playing this game and already have a core group that knows everything then why should you care?
After Years of Guild Wars and Wow (Stopped playing after MoP and only went back for a month since). Earlier this year, I Was looking for something else to invest my time in. Started the FFXIV free trial, but it didn't really 'click'. Started playing ESO again instead. Now because of the attention FFXIV has been getting, I'm giving it a second chance and I'm starting to like it more and more. I'm still at the 'not so good' part of the game. But I'm a happy lvl 38 Bard Sprout!
I mean, first every player would have to overcome the base game leveling experience.. I am leveling a new Account rn because I want to play through steam.. and oh my God… it's torture

Hey, 10+ year WoW player here. When the FF hype started taking off a month or so ago I was like "Eww there's no way I'm going to like this weird Japanese game'. Then after checking out more content, I decided to give it a shot. It felt super weird at first, but I started getting used to it, and as I played more I started enjoying it. I'm lvl 45 on free trial at the moment and seriously considering buying the complete edition.
I cant wait for asmon to play FFXIV its happening sooooooon 😱😱😱😱😱
I wish everybody would respect and just enjoy whatever MMO they play whether its WOW Runescape FFXIV ESO BDO PSO2 SOLO GDMO any MMO just play and enjoy it theres nothing wrong with enjoying multiple MMO’s but keep toxic trash talk away from any of it and just make friends we all gamers at the end of day

What so good about ff14 races is that there is something for everybody from cute sexy and badass in wow everything is badass so to speak it doesnt give much variety for people…
I’m a WoW refugee but I came over in May after seeing how huge/incredible the player response was to the death of Berserk author Kentarou Miura. Seeing hundreds of Dark Knights line up on the Uldah main road was just amazing. My DK is almost lvl70 now and this game has me.
Fuck Asmongold. Him and his toxic following are a giant reason WHY WoW became so toxic in the first place. I'm a lvl 14 archanist, but honestly, this has completely destroyed my excitment for the game. The ONLY reason the streamers want to move to FF14 is because a larger player base means larger potential revenue. I wont watch him and Preach ruin another community. Media has power and influence over perception. If Asmongold, Preach, and Bellular are constantly whinning about the game, people listen and will repeat it. Especially a younger audience. Now you have a player base stuck inside of a toxic, self-loathing, game hating, echo chamber. It will happen to FF14 too. Resist.
As a WoW refugee myself I can't say I have experienced any issue with the community in FF. Healing on my white mage I actually have been getting a lot of complements going through low dungeons. On my summoner I actually happened to walk buy a guy playing Megaman 2 theme and after correctly pointing that out found myself an FC invite with people who have all been really great answering questions and helping me get started.
Then again maybe it's because I've been very upfront that I'm more or less a complete newbie to the FF MMO, aside for the WMG I got to 21 like 5 years ago, and am just trying to take advice and learn the game while enjoying the the world. Either way been having a blast so far and hoping it gets to continu.
