  1. A world first mythic raider from WoW, who came over with Max I believe, has said Ninja is the most fun he's ever had in a game, and more fun than anything he's ever done in WoW

  2. I don't think quest rewards are a spoiler. Later on when all the jobs are available, the MSQ rewards gear in a way that's broken down by Melee (tanks included), Ranged, and Healers. I've been leveling Paladin/Machinist, and every time a group of, say, chest pieces are rewarded, I don't have to pick between which class gets it because the next quest or two will reward a chest for the other class I'm leveling.

  3. Ninja is fucking sick, it's my favorite melee DPS with Dragoon right behind it. But really, there isn't a single "bad" or "boring" class in the game. They have their own twists and mechanics to spice them up and SE handles it really well.

  4. Ninja is such a kinetic and satisfying job to play. Every xpac adds a new change to ninja. It felt like I was learning an entirely new version of the job and while it took a bit to adjust to the new skill level it paid off so well. When I scale down to a lower dungeon it isn't too hard to switch back to that older rotation. It is built into my muscles now. Like graduating from one level of ninja mastery to the next it adds complexity. I still don't understand why the opener involves the aoe when nothing is there to stand in it besides confused party members but since you are "just there for trick attack" you can do whatever makes you happy so long as the window gets opened on cooldown and you don't bunny. Ding Dong Bong away little Horsebird chick.

  5. the trick to remembering the Ninjutsus is just to remember the number of mudras needed + last mudra you need
2 mudras ending in Ten = Katon
2 mudras ending in Chi = Raiton
2 mudras ending in Jin = Hyoton
3 Mudras ending in Ten = Huton
3 Mudras ending in Chi = Doton
3 Mudras ending in Jin = Suiton

  6. I'm personally too scatterbrained, too much attention split to too many things, especially as content gets challenging, to ever have the spare CPU leftover to process Mudra nonsense. So personally, NIN is my most hated class by a mile.
But other people like that kind of involvement, so it's good an option exists for them. What tends to be frustrating is the people who whine and demand every other class become as needlessly convoluted. I don't demand NIN lose its jank, don't demand to add jank to my SAM for example.

  7. not sure if anyone that reads this will benefit for this, but an easy way to remember mudra combos is the last mudra in the combo for a certain spell is always the same. like for raiton, its either (chi>ten) or (jin>ten). it always ends in ten, so as long as u know "any 2 mudras ending in ten is raiton" the exact combo doesnt matter. same applies to 3 combo mudras. huton is either (jin>chi>ten) or (chi>jin>ten). and 3 mudras ending in ten is hyoton.
so you really dont have to remember anything except the last one. this really reduces the burden of thinking about mudra combos.
i think its most helpful for ones like doton(any 3 ending in chi) and hyoton (and 2 ending with jin).

hope there is someone out there this helps!

  8. Wait…hold up, is Bellular making an argument against boosting here?

Oh thank merciful heavens. He actually is articulating as to why people shouldn't boost because the class quest teaches you slowly (it eases you into the class to a point you learn your rotation).

  9. Ninja definitely caught my attention coming from WoW with the Mudras. I loved it so much, and it is still my favorite out of all of the classes I have leveled (so far). Loved to hear your thoughts too!

  10. Disciples of War very rarely share gear, at least later on. Some of the very early pieces mix them because they didn't decide how yet they wanted different jobs to gear. Ninja primary stat is Dex. Samurai uses strength. None of their gear is compatible in any way. Same with Bard. Ninja will often use its own gear entirely. Rather than sharing gear with ranged physical jobs who all use Dex, at each level cap ninja has its own unique set. Even Dragoon, which uses strength, doesn't like to share with other jobs. For some reason Dragoon specifically gets extra armor on its gear and so it can't share. It's weird. Instead of disciple of war and magic you have to think of them in terms of roles now. The war/magic system is outdated. Every role shares gear except melee dps. For some dumb reason they don't like to share.

  11. I ended up leveling the most with Ninja, too. I've gotten almost to the end of Heavensward with Ninja at level 60 and it has been hands down my favorite class in any game I've ever played. I think ninjutsu mechanics are just so well executed and are amazingly fun to play. Having to use the correct ninjutsu at the right time and hitting the buttons correct is just such a satisfying gameplay loop. It keeps the class fresh since you still have to actively make those decisions every single time.
