SGE is the best healer because the “Rescue + Icarus” combo lets you swap a target into an aoe while moving yourself out.

As a non-Savage/Ultimate raider, when I heal, I'm at that point where if people take avoidable damage twice in a row, I will feel no urgency whatsoever and give them a pity regen.
If they die before the regen can help them survive the next bout of unavoidable damage, I get frustrated that I have to stop DPSing to Swiftcast res them.
It's even better when they blame me for not dry humping heal buttons when they die. It's like… have you considered not standing in the bad? You made me stop DPSing; your healer will remember that. It's even better that I play Astrologian. Whoever dies more than once or makes me heal them excessively immediately nukes their card privileges.
Healer is the most engaging role. But sometimes it gets to be too engaging, like trying to put out one fire at a time all the while 7 people around you keep running around with candles in one hand and a can of gasoline in the other. You develop hyperawareness to every blunder the 3-7 other party members do, and hyperawareness can lead to a sort of jadedness toward the randoms DF puts in your teams given enough time.
Im so torn between healing and tanking, believe it or not, i suck at ff14 dps especially melee

I became a Healer main out of pure spite and vitriol towards bad healers in the game. I honestly don't think it's very difficult compared to other roles as you don't have a rotation to worry about. You just press your 1 DPS button, your dot, and look over at the party list in between if they need anything.
Tbh… after healing in wow, ff14 healing just doesn't feel good… love dps and tanking but I really feel like healing in FF needs an overhaul.
I main healer and one of the first times I was tanking, I was nervous about doing big pulls….so the healer just pulled me through the entire dungeon using Rescue.

Actual Healer difficulty is as follows: Sge>Sch>Ast>Whm. Sge is so easy, i still cant believe people find it any kind of difficult.
I can't play as DPS and tank, I just don't understand how it works even if I watch a guide for 100500 time… but I can play as literally every healer job.

Me, a healer main, healing through Abyssos, can confirm it was incredible pain to heal through it.
WHM is the easy class of the Pure healers, and I'd say SGE is the easy class of the Shield healers. The other 2 (AST/SCH) require more braincells for sure
