The Final Fantasy XIV community is generally known for being nice, and here are some of the small, but valuable gestures that they do that adds up to a great gaming experience.

If you’re new to the game, or to MMORPGs in general, you’ll discover that observing simple etiquette like these makes the experience a lot more positive and enjoyable for everyone.

  1. Heya guys! I play on the Elemental Data Center and I'm curious if there are unique etiquette that's observed from our friends in NA and EU.
Also here are the macros that I use above:
    Hello Macro:
/p (Nice to meet you.) (Let's do it!)
    Sorry Macro:
    /p (I'm sorry.) (I'll do my best!)
    GG Macro
    /p (Good Game!)

To use the auto-translate feature, just type in the first couple of letters of the first word you want to say and press TAB, then select from the options and press Enter.

  2. A few more things:
if you're DPS, do not run ahead and pull for the tank. This isn't "encouraging," and in some cases it's an assured wipe. It's also insulting.

Once you get retainers and start selling stuff on the market board, only undercut lowest price by a small amount, maybe 1-5 percent. Deep undercuts ruin the economy of the game + are often a warning sign the person is a bot + are effectively a way of ruining all the other sellers' day.

Other players are real. They are a variety of diverse human beings with a variety of experiences. Don't be a bigot – especially in areas like duties or raids where people are forced to coexist with you. Not only does it make you a repugnant person, but unlike WoW, it will likely get you banned. Similarly, "KYS" or the like even as a joke/even if it feels like what you want to tell someone is at best a three day ticket to bantown.
