love ff14. I dont remember or if it was ever told why the crystals float but on top are remnants of the city of Nym which was destroyed in a previous era. I know for sure SCH and Heavensward alliance talk about this.
So, you peaked my curiosity too strongly, and I had to go see for myself what the little loft looked like in the cabin at the introduction of your video. Since you can stay mounted inside, I flew up there and it's not very exciting lol; a small bed, more shelves with books, a sextant, and a little bench you can /sit on. Sadly there's no world emote for sleeping, so you can't even lie down on the bed :(. I was about to claim squatter's rights on the cabin, since I can't afford the ridiculous pricing of actual housing in this game. I'm a little confused where that short pier was supposed to go, even if it wasn't broken, it just leads into a vast chasm, it's not even useful for fishing.

I realize this is FF14, but I do have a Tip for WoW if you didn't know you could do backflips and frontflips while flying and you can hold flying upside down by holding Delete(Keyboard Key) to flip frontwards, or Insert(Keyboard Key) to flip backwards. To maintain flying upside down you have to be in motion and let go of whichever key you're holding to flip mid-way through the rotation. You can play around with it. I recommend holding mouse double click down to be in motion so you can move your camera more easily, but W and Auto-Walk should work too.
I think it can be used underwater as well but it's been a while since I've played.
