  1. I like wow more than FF14, but Wow's community just ruins the game for me, so I play FF14. Wow's community is awful. Bliz needs to moderate it or the game is going to die.

  2. He says it's obvious but the reality is that the game awards–ever since it stopped being this independent, unsponsored event–has been filled with "wtf?" choices. Even in this one, a huge number of awards made people just sit there going "what?", especially for the games very few people had even heard of. I remember people even questioning how a PS exclusive game that didn't do well had won awards despite it being fairly unknown/unpopular.

  3. Imagine this, you have to get a brand new more powerful gaming PC just to keep up with an MMORPG once every 2 years! That's how it is with World of Warcraft! FFXIV I beleive it's not so, meaning FFXIV can run on far more PCs on full recommended settings while more than half the PCs owned can only run WoW on medium settings at best!

  4. Idk why he keeps shitting on the game even after he stopped playing it he should just ignore it. There's no way he wanted any of the other games on that list to win the category he didn't care, he's just a hater lmao. Even then no other game on that list deserved it better tbh, Fortnite is a no, Genshin isn't even long running, so no long running community, and i can't even remember the other games, but they were prolly' something like, COD, and other BR games, maybe Apex i think idk. WOW wasn't on that list so yea FF14 DESERVED that award.

  5. All I can say is thank Christ that Fortnite didn't win. Like, I'm as much of an apologist for it as the next guy, but with the insane phenomenon FFXIV ended up being this year and how beloved the people working on that game are with the gaming community as a whole, it not sweeping every category it was in this year would feel…weird.

  6. Eh, the only reason FFXIV even got this award is because the developers actively involve themselves with the community through social media while behind the scenes the community team quietly does that job to an even higher extent. The GMs, fantastic, the developers, fantastic, they pay attention to streamers and take feedback seriously. They however are hampered by the fact the rest of Square Enix, including the departments who answer to them such as the foreign Square Enix Support middle management interferes a lot… by not passing up feedback(especially SE London). Since the community teams for each region took more direct control over interactions with the community since Shadowbringers from that of what were previously just SE middle management, it has improved the game and the trust as well as communication lines between the developers and the community of the game dramatically when SE support middle management was cut out of the loop.

With that said, other games used to have great communication between the devs and the community; Two examples being EVE Online and Warframe. I say they used to because they do not now days. Also, for a very very short period in Bungie's history they too had excellent communication with their fans, that was between 1998 and 2005.

Let's be fair, for Blizzard's entire history they never listened to feedback from those who played their games. The only times the feedback ever impacted the game was during the periods Blizzard hired fans who then took it upon themselves to improve the games they worked on and make changes based on feedback, which were very brief periods of time numbering a few years out of a span of 3 decades; The only reason the old Blizzard games were good was because those who worked on them were passionate and creative, they too ignored the fans, they only listen to them now days because they got nothing better to do because they left the video game industry and while away their days doing Twitch Streams or trying to get money for their pet projects.

  7. I mean… blizzard seems pretty intent on shooting themselves in the foot whenever it tries to intact or put in something to interact with players. Was anyone surprised the game with actual mods and not bots won this award?
