Asmongold Joins Final Fantasy XIV, His First Day Impressions

This video is filled with my views about Asmongold’s first stream of which I felt was a really positive experience for him. There were of course, those in the community that let everyone down in trying their best to sully the experience…

Asmongold’s Twitch and where you can watch the Final Fantasy experience can be found here.

  1. It’s annoying how ff players keep assuming that it’s the toxic wow players who were to blame when that clearly was not the case. The majority of asmons viewers wanted him to try ff and many of his viewers are already ff players.
Also, asmon is used to this and it was to be expected. It seems like a lot of FF fans are extremely anxious that asmon will be put off the game by this and it’s not the case. It’s going to be okay.

  3. he just ignore all those players following him in the first day of his gameplay. I'm assuming that his going to be like "that's it, you guys need to stop following me" but nah he just continued playing like it was normal and nothing is happening even the viewers is really annoyed on what we are seeing on his stream for sure. big thanks to square for taking actions to these players

  6. 6:55 – I haven't played FF14. But I think the best way to avoid those friend requests (for future FF content creators out there, and I'm not sure if this is already available) is by giving the players an option to "disable friend request" on the title menu > settings.

  7. 12:23 – I was honestly expecting some sort of a grandeur welcome by the community.
Like, everybody falls in line, and Asmon walks in the middle of the people (just like in a wedding or a red carpet).

I hate to say this, but it turned out the same experience that he usually experience in WoW.
They are so hungry for attention, and it's so stupid. I can't help but think that they must be the same people who usually snipe him in WoW.

  8. I’m commenting this on every video I watch on the subject:
His getting the names wrong is hilarious but he lacked creativity when it came to gridania, he got it wight way too many times!!!!

  9. He really did a good job hyping this up like crazy over a couple of weeks. Even Game "Journalists" jumped on it. Yeah i had people in other streams from his server who played there for years who just could not play the Game because of these People. And well at least the guy on the Whale Mount got suspended for 9 Days, hope there are more to follow i would supended them for 30 so they loose one month of sub money for trolling.

  10. Asmongold's conduct was almost saintly when compared to those piece of shit griefers, and those people dare call themselves part of the good FFXIV community. Serves that whale guy right for getting a 9-day suspension.

  11. i think when he showed where he was playing his character was fully intentional, I'm not entirely sure why but I highly doubt it's something he would overlook. He's way too sharp for that

  12. Asmon is a decent guy really, he can't fool me. He's changed a lot over the past 3-4 years, but some people are of course ignorant or dismissive of that. I actually find it quite admirable.

  13. @Tsumoro You weren't the only one who was disappointed with the portion of the FFXIV community that was doing that. I was highly disappointed as well. I expect better from our community and we need to do our best to put our best foot forward and help give Asmongold the chance to experience FFXIV like all of us got to experience it.

  14. I'm 50/50 on Asmon, I think he's rude sometimes and says problematic stuff but other times he's very insightful and well-spoken. I was super excited to see him play FFXIV and watched most of the stream live as well, and like you at first I just thought everyone was just excited to see him. I was like "Cmon guys leave him alone, let him enjoy the game." But it was around when the high level characters were one shotting his quest mobs that I was like, wait….theyre trying to grief him. I was really upset FF14 players would stoop so low. Very disappointing.

  15. He's still playing… And the bans that went out have really cleared out the trolls. The ppl who r following him are now standing back and just watching….

Respect to the ff14 Devs for doing something, cause the wow Devs dont

  16. having played for the past few years i genuinely had the impression that the ff14 community was solid gold. i suppose i should thank these arseholes for popping that delusion.

  17. To be honest, that was the first time I had ever seen anything like that since I started in beta of 2.0. We've had only a few griefers over the years, and the ones that were became public knowledge within the week and the FC they were in often kicked them quickly. Nobody wants that kind of toxicity associated with them in this game. I don't doubt that the second those griefers were seen by their own FCs, they were either heavily disciplined or outright kicked.
