  1. “What happened to the relic quest?” What happened is that ppl realized it’s ‘too’ much of a grind for basically just a ‘glowy’ wpn.. like anima quests in HW, 2nd step when u need 4 sets of 10 items and then 4 sets of 4 items that costs poetics and grand company seals.. depending on how much u play, could take u two weeks to complete that step.. it’s a bit much..
and who are we kidding, relics are never going to be on par with savage gear anymore, because again, the community would complain that ‘they don’t deserve good wpns that rival savage, cause I had to struggle in pf to accomplish the clear’ – and I kinda agree.. filthy casuals who just rp and do dungeons still able to get pretty comparable gear (630 with good stats) but it won’t be better than savage , and we only get this version like 1.5 months before next savage tier when relic will be made completely irrelevant again

So again, basically just a glam option.. so if it’s just glam.. yea, I’d rather it be a semi easy step

  2. This is why even though i have been a player since 2.0 and I do always come back i have taken frequent breaks with the longest usually lasting a couple months. It lets the game stay fresh for me. I do have to disagree that Shadowbringers was garbage from a content perspective. It was garbage from a high end content perspective.!There was far more content that you could just bum around for hours in and be productive than there has been in endwalker. The raids and ultimates have been great, but you really feel the fact that it doesn’t have a Eureka or bozja style content.

Square really needs to make the ffxiv team bigger. The fact that one of the most popular mmos has so few people that can do certain kinds of content is ridiculous. I love xiv’s content, just make more of it! The fact that we are still getting the same amount of bosses from when we didn’t know if 2.0 would succeed to when the game is one of the most successful mmos ever is stupid.

  3. Nah bro you were talking for one hour haha and i loved it, honestly the things you said about savage raiding made so much sense and has given me a whole new perspective, im not gonna complain as much when i get trap parties anymore instead im just gonna enjoy myself cause i still enjoy raids in the game

  4. What people tend to forget is that a good chunk of the FFXIV team is still developing FFXVI, an entirely separate game and I feel alot of the content thus far has been pretty good considering that and also the fact that they apparently took a break in December which they definitely need. I never really feel like I'm out of content but then again I spend only a few hours a night playing the game.

  5. They've been very transparent in saying this is not a game to play 24/7. Go play something else, literally no MMO in the history of ever has had an endless stream of new things to do.

  6. This Is the problem instead of 3 months per patch, we Now have More than 4 months. Also i'm very tired of switching one content for another, that had to stop, they should add content each new expansión, stop switching.

  7. Mythic raiding in WoW is way easier from a mechanical standpoint. The difficulty is to have a prepared character that does its chores consistently and has the resources to afford consumables, crafted gear other things. I have 11 cutting edges and 1 Hof. WoW is much MUCH more vertical. A player that can clear a +16 week 1, that can afford an elemental lariat right away, a player that does all these teeny tiny things to do 0.1% extra damage will be very valuable.

You also need to play a class that benefits the raid group and sometimes the boss itself. WoW is not "tested" to be cleared week1 with minilvl. To get around that the top 100 guilds usually experiment with different comps to get value out of certain classes nieche like multidotting or burst. That leads so CONSTANT anxiety as a player if your class is good enough, if you will get a raid spot or not. It is incredibly unfun to be the one extra Warlock that gets swapped in for Ghuun, because your class can cast Portal. The FOMO is also unreal. If one mage in your guild gets a high PvP rating to get the BIS trinket to do more damage, are you griefing by not doing it? Are you a grief er because you don't do 8 hours of m+ a day? Are you a grief er because you can't afford a Lariat week 1? I don't know, but these questions are on your mind 24/7 in WoW if you're in a mythic raiding guild.

99% of your worries are not: Am I good enough to play well and do the mechanics correctly?
No. Your worries are: Can I sustain a character that a) the guild needs b) grind every single 0.1% performance upgrade for it and c) repeat that for multiple weeks up to 4 months (top 500 levels) or perhaps on multiple characters (full time job basicly) (hall of fame).

It's exhausting for the wrong reasons.
I'm ffxiv, if you're good enough, you will clear a fight, the gearing is extremely horizontal and the maintenance is casual. That's a GOOD THING.

  8. EWs content droughts seem to come sooner than even ShB, which went many more months than 4 without content due to the pandemic.

I like criterion but it in comparison to Bozja is really comparable. I guess their resources are divied up between this and 16 and likely 16 is more important atm.

  9. I agree that patch content since Stormblood has been mid but in Endwalker it's definitely worse.
I always had something to do before and I had a LOT of free time. Now I work full time and still login to.. roulette? There's no relic gameplay now, no crafting content, no exploration content (wich we've had since Heavensward Diadem), Criterion is a one trick pony.
Finally got Deep Dungeon but well, once I get it done solo, it's done too

  10. FFXIV actually doesn’t feel more MMO just after realm reborn because of the world of expansions are lackluster as an MMO with very few elements and ugly compared to Gridania, limsa etc. Example: u reach ishgard and it’s just another unpopulated dead world.

  11. I started in 5.2, so I don't really have a guage on any of this an as such can't really voice an opinion on this. But I can say that I am looking forwards to the future of the game, for better or for worse.

  12. In WoW I would just pvp all day when I didnt want to do other shit, FFXIV has a lot of other content to do but the best content is the story and PvE although I kinda dont like the gearing system.

  13. well it's very very weird
FF14 got a very large number of players but lack of content creators in YT.
My friends say the game is not that bad, it's fun and enjoyable but it's more enjoyable when you play it by yourself.
