I was invited to check out the FFXIV booth and try my hand at tanking in the Battle Challenge at PAXAUS 2024!
I’m not a big MMO player, but I keep hearing that FFXIV has so much free content and can also be treated as one big single player story, so after this taster at PAX I’m keen to give it a crack.

  2. As someone who has tanked in FF14, I can confirm that pushing the "i'm taking now" button is the only real requirement, everything else is just extra layers of mayo on the tanking pizza!

  3. Oh god i remember the nightmares this fight gave me back when i actively played FF14, starting your experience with THIS boss fight is like throwing a toddler into a pit of hellhounds with a spoon for a weapon.

    The actual mechanics for this fight are SO stupidly and overly messy and even in an "organized" group the best you can do us reduce the chaos factor XD It's SO bad.

    They should've chosen Ravana fight instead. That one atleast is learnable from just looking at the danger zones XD
