  1. Also, Faerie hasn't been too too bad. There's always a queue but it's. Usually only a minute or two maybe. Unfortunately Faerie is an Aether server so no new characters allowed rip

  2. A reminder that this is theoretically a "dead" season for 14, since there is no new content until Endwalker. I hope they'll be able to handle the people then.

  3. Problem is also braindeads of like 20-30 of them following Asmon LITTERALY DOING NOTHING BUT JUST WAITING AND FOLLOW HIM AROUND INSTEAD OF LOGING OF SO THAT OTEHRS WHO WANT TO PLAY CAN PLAY THE GAME but CANT bcs OF FCKERS WHO SILMPY LOG IN JUST SO THEY CAN F WITH ASMON.ITS GETING ON MY NERVES NOW.I realy do hope that GMs TAKE EXTRA TIME AND TRY TO FOLLOW ASMONS STREAM AND WHEN THEY SEE SAME PEOPEL FOLLOWING,DOING NOTHING THEN AFTER 10 MIN GMs START TO BAN THOSE PEOPLE SO THAT PEOPPLE WHO ACTUAL WANT TO PLAY CAN PLAY THE GAME.

  5. Congestion of this magnitude isn't something they'd expect, but it must be a welcome thing for Square Enix to invest in more servers to house more players in.

  6. I wanted to take off work for the endwalker launch but I have a feeling I might not be able to play lol. My server usually has a queue of 45 or so but I can’t image what it’ll be like when the expansion hits.

  7. Can confirm, my main is in Aether but I never had very long queues even on peek hours, but I've been playing an alt on Light and never seen queues like that, trying to log at peek can take more than 30 minutes. Also on Twintania not even once I could enter The Firmament, as its always full even outside main time.

  8. That was expected, frankly. Since FF XIV requires that you finish the MSQ of the previous expansions before you can enter in the new content that they are about to release in a few months, people who are starting now AND people who stopped playing back in HW or SB are coming back to catch up before Endwalker drops.
Maybe that's why the next expansions won't be focused in continuing the Hyadelin and Zodiark conflict. If they continue releasing new, excellent story expansions that require hundreds of hours of playtime in order to even get to them, these server stress loads will be insane.

  9. WoW Warmane servers were worse for their queues. I had to wait, at best, through a queue of up to 2200 at times. I'm not thrilled at having a queue of any size in FFXIV. But I can live with it since I love this game.

  10. Makes sense actually. Aether exploded once Asmongold started streaming. On the one hand it sucks, but at the same time it is nice to see that the game is doing so well.

The fact that they are adding worlds or talking about it this far after the game has been out is incredible. I remember a couple MMOs that I’ve played where at this point in the life cycle they were merging servers, not adding new ones.

  11. I'm part of Midgard on the Aether data center, and yes there is always a que when I log in, but it's only ever seconds before I get in. The longest que I've seen is 77, it's normally 30ish. I guess we should count ourselves as lucky no big youtubers have chosen that particular world. I also count myself lucky being a free trial person who has never been kicked from logging-in. A quietish world on a congested server.

That said though, the perks they're giving for new characters and transfers to the other two servers sounds pretty good. I wonder if they count for free trial people. I have no ties to Midgard.

  12. I play on Exodus and Hyperion (NA Primal). So far the longest queue I’ve seen was 83 players. It took about a minute and a half. I’ve had zero disconnects or other server problems. This is insignificant for players like me who remember when WoW queues were routinely in the thousands and you could wait an hour to log in, only to be immediately DC’d and have to start over. I encourage everyone to be patient and treat the devs kindly. I’m sure they’ll appreciate any support we can show them right now.

  13. I wonder how many people will stay with ff14 when the hype is over. If the developers set up new servers and then after endwalker most of the new players go I hope it will not be a issue for them

  14. Asmongolds popularity, the other WOW refugees flocking in, people making alts, vets returning to play to prepare for Endwalker, the Free Trial!! However the main thing is if you are an RPG lover, there isnt much to play at the moment I've been playing FF14 till Tales Of Arise comes out, which I will play till EndWalker comes out.

  15. So thankful we have proper communication with what’s going on. I know crystal isn’t really known for raiding but we still welcome new players regardless just avoid the quicksand on balmung unless you feel like bleaching your eyes afterward

  16. I can confirm the EU servers can be hell. I’ve personally experienced, seen and heard stories of being booted out of all sorts of duties. My personal worst was whilst doing Copied Factory with friends and the game seeming to freeze. I then looked in the FC discord and I saw a screenshot from one of the people I was running with, still in the duty, with only 4 others in the entire raid, because the rest had crashed.

The queue afterwards was around 2.500 maybe?

There’s also one where my FC was running Puppet’s Bunker and they were at the last boss and then almost everyone got an error, dooming the entire raid.

  17. This has been an ongoing problem since 2.0 release. Mind you, this is not a bad problem to have, and the player base is overwhelmingly patient and understanding. That’s why this community rocks: we know YoshiP and crew are communicating with us and working as hard as they can. They have done this from the beginning, and the payoff is always fantastic.
