I'd love to see beastmaster have a weapon like a redmage where it has two parts, whip in the main hand and Dagger off hand
I know BST is a long way off, but lore-wise… it fits my character so well, and I’m more than happy to wait until 7.x to make it my “main” job despite its limited status. Ugh how I wish it could’ve been a normal job in a later expansion though…Oh well 😭.
As an artist I'm going PIC
I made a pictomancer OC for KH module homebrew years ago and yes it worked very similar to this one! I’m SUPER excited to see it! All my friends texted me about it as the Champaign went for easily 10 years! This may feel like coming home for me~ I can’t wait.
As a Ranger main since EverQuest in 2004, I have been BEGGING for a dual longsword Hunter-like class since trying FFXIV back JUST after 2.1 dropped. (We are talking DAYS after 2.1.)
Viper is what I have waited nearly a decade for.
It was said when they announced the trailer for pictomancer its from ff6 just like mech basically realm was the pictomancer and edger was the mech.
I remember hearing something about pictomancer giving buffs to the party and having to build up toward there heavier hits
never ceases to amaze me how you guys can take 30 seconds of content and stretch it into a fifteen minute video
I grow more and more frustrated with beastmaster… it's not even a PICTURE of a beastmaster… that's a BLUE MAGE…. Is BLU just going to learn to tame monsters and FAKE IT… and beastmaster is just a joke?
Okay, that makes sense why Krile was picked to be a Pictomancer. Thanks for the video, Synodic Scribe! 😀
less goooo
Dont forget we've seen two kinds of "pictomancer / picture making" users so far in game – the one Omega raid where we had to use paint brushes to manipulate the field, and the paintbrush wielding user in the Hero's Guantlet. While not related to Aetherys directly; it does make some sense if the shards had some use of the "art".
I was kind of hoping there would be a fill in about pictomancers elsewhere in the series. I know zidaine from ff9 so I’m already caught up on that style. Kinda wanted to get caught up on the other class.
Pictomanser is a ff6 class. FF6, it copied the monster and uses its spells and attacks.
Me, seeing title and thumbnail: New Jobs Breakdown!
Me, having seen his reaction to the fanfest and all the new shit theyre adding: "Lore breakdown or mental breakdown?"
for a game where every tank is basically a slightly altered copy with a different invulnerability skill i think your hyping up the class a bit much, like you said your naming off a bunch of possibilities that work in the classes favor that are never utilized, so maybe it will make for interesting story moments, however from a fighting standpoint it will probably just be business as usual, plus it wont have a resurrection skill so even though it may not beat BLM in raw power unless it's poorly balanced on release (which is also a possibility) so it should do a good bit of damage and it was said to have a few buffs even though its not supposed to be a utility class.
I have a feeling beastmaster might take aspects of ff11 of using tamed world mobs but excluding ranked hunts or pull from a set stock in their version of the masked carnival. I wouldn't saw no to the use of paired hand-axes
Beastmasters also used one-handed axes.
"WHIPS!"
Balmung exploded. You did this.
Can i offer an idea;
Beastmaster weapon, a chain axe
Whip around for range, use as a Hand Axe for melee, sicc fido on fools for casts
Watch Beastmasters have a single handed ax.
"Ink mages" appear in the Heroes' Gauntlet, so there's a little bit of precedent for similar magic appearing, in at least some of the reflections.
Van hydrus had an aetherochemical tiger pet
Literally the last physical dps we had had a trancestate as well.
I am hoping the Viper is at least mechanically challenging for high damage. I love duo swords into glaive weapons.
If whips are wasted on beastmaster I would cry.
Whips as the BST's weapon makes me a bit uncomfortable. They're used to control beasts through pain and that doesn't seem to jive with the WoL. Same reason that I don't think we'll get Necromancer as a playable job. The WoL would rely on allies to make themselves more powerful, not unwilling subjects. I'm hoping the BST weapon is a one-handed axe like in FFXI, with a Bell or similar in the offhand for the "pet" skills.
I remember them mentioning "since its a limited job it will have a collection log", so i suppose your spells are the beasts you summon
We want Indie and true Belmont not fetish whip. But likey single handed axe. But been wrong before.
I'm a bit surprised you didn't touch a bit more upon Kryle in the trailer. She 'enters the stage' in state of energy?
Furthermore, the 'finisher' she uses to spawn the giant Spriggan might hint at Pictomancer's Limit Break.
Pictomancer can draw anything…except a picture of you getting rez'd lol.
