  1. I think there are a few factors why people are so up n crazy about the FF content that Asmon puts out.
    – It's some of the best XIV playthrough content out there if not the best. His personality and injection to the story + his reaction to it is great.
    – Any online game he plays, people show up cause "strumer", but nothing like the turn out and entertaining characters the FF streams bring.
    – People really love his playthrough and it is a pretty significant mark on the community probably more than he realizes. While there's a lot of toxic and obsessive weirdos, either ree'ing over his intros or thinking he is a blight on FF, a large number of people are just patiently awaiting his return.

He didn't really ask for it, but Asmon became the single biggest thing to FF in terms of an individual creator and I don't think he was ready for that, at least for it to happen so fast or be so prominent as compared to his gradual growth with WoW. I thought nothing would top the chaos of Classic WoW streams, but FFXIV has done that for me as a viewer.

  2. I'll share my ten cents for what it's worth. I'll preface by saying that I love Asmon and I have watched him even through things I don't agree with. I do believe that Asmongold handles things in ways that aren't the most mature or healthy for him or his viewers. He tends to either name call, dismiss, or block/ban to deal with things he doesn't agree with and it seems to me when he gets upset or anxious he tends to switch into a sort of mode where he "knows" he's right and just explains everyone away as less intelligent and talks loops around things he disagrees with, then shuts down and avoids streaming for a while. Instead, I think he could just simply ignore alot more than he does, or disagree without insulting peoples intelligence or character, it's the one thing that usually makes me need to take a break from watching when I see him do it.

He's even insulted me personally once on stream, it was late at night and he insulted me when I was trying to sell something in general chat in New World because I didn't have a grasp on the prices yet, stuff like that hurts and isn't necessary, I was just trying to relax and watch his stream while I did some casual trading before bed, and I think that's an example of the problem, he sometimes says and does things that are more extreme than called for and unncessarily rude or hurtful. Again, I love Asmongold and not trying to make him look bad, but figured since this seems to be the place it's getting discussed I'd throw this out there.

  3. People just need to chill, you're not going to die tomorrow, he will eventually get around to playing something if enough people want it. if you're not interested in the game, the topic or the reaction stuff. Crazy idea, watch something else, do something else. This is but 1 day of the the 25000+ days your will live for.

  4. there are two kinds of people. people who actually watch all the content that asmon puts out and people who cherry picks what they want to watch him stream.

the latter then complain that they didn't sign up for all the other content he usually puts out. like what the actual fck??? if you want to watch only one part of his stream then go fast forward the recording or wait for it to go on youtube.

just listen to yourselves and tell me you don't think you're entitled.

  5. What I saw in asmond, is a man who lost passion in gaming after he lost his favorite game.

I think Asmond still loves wow. I heard he still plays on his alt stream. He might not like what he plays but he’s clearly more comfortable in wow. Otherwise he’d be staying far away after all these bs and drama.

    So this is really sad.

  6. Youre a grown ass adult living out a peter pan fantasy and making millions off of the attention of your audience. The least you can do is be straightforward with the people that are feeding you instead of antagonizing them. Dishonesty like this will only cause everyone further stress and aggravation. The truth will set you free.

  7. it is so sad to see how these viewers ruin asmons ffxiv experience by being impatient and by trying to pressure him.

i understand if someone is excited about asmon playing ffxiv. it is a good game and fun to watch when asmon plays it. but let him do it his way, dont you see you are reaching the exact opposite by getting angry about this nonsense.

  8. At the end of the day it's his stream to do with what he wants, and he has no reason to change as long as there's an audience for what he's doing. I don't care for hours of react crap so I pick thru the vods. Bitching at him all day isn't going to help.
