  1. I haven't played since 5.2 I think, and just started playing again. The most use I ever got out of Anatman was during Crown of The Immaculate when Greased Lightning still existed. If you timed it just right you could maintain your stacks through boss transitions, and I think the cutscenes halfway through. It doesn't matter that much anymore

  2. The issue with missing positunals in fights has led me to just not give a F*** about it, sure i loose dps, but thats not my fault, it's the developers fault at this rate, so i don't care, want me to perform better ? Scream at Yoshida, maybe if you use the correct pronoun he will listen.
    Me?
I just want to punch shit and relive parts of my childhood, cheap kungfu movies and DBZ among other things
Posituinals should not be in the game, period, due to how they design boss fights.
    Fight me.

  3. another general tip for melee dps is if you know which attacks don't give you debuffs for eating them, you can afford to eat them for melee uptime because you have plenty of tools to heal yourself

  4. Hands down, the most unfun class I've played so far in FF14. I really doubt I'll have willpower to even get it to 40, let alone higher (currently 38). I have no idea how monk is even worse than ninja, but apparently, the game does that for you.
Cause when tank ain't spinning mobs around, the boss mechanic does. So nice to have a positional for literally every ability when boss wants to imitate a fcking beyblade. I REALLY wanted to do the Stormblood campaign as monk, but…. being… what it is, I think I'll do it as machinist, dancer, or dragoon (aka the satisfying jobs). Instead of getting both headache and finger cramps from trying to change into right positions every second of every encounter.

And that's not even mentioning how bad it is to just quest around as monk, when you're practically guaranteed to miss all your positionals unless you stun the fcker… or chain True Norths or something.

  5. btw I think you can avoid sticking to the alternating gcds without doing a buffless bootshine by doing twin snakes, true strikex2, you might drop the twin snakes buff for one dragon kick that way depending on sks, but that's like a much smaller damage loss than doing a buffless bootshine

  6. So my advice for when you need to bootshine without the buff, just use bootshine anyways and crit. Its literally easier to just have better crit RNG. I'm not learning the reverse rotation. Monk is not hard in general. Its got like a 6 step static rotation and a 90 sec buff window with a super simple rotation during that window. Do this and you have like 95% of your possible dmg which is good enough for ALL content.

  7. I really think monk is one of those jobs , that dev do not know what to do with them, and in their mind it looks good and in paper, while player are here like w t actual f are we going to do with this potato, that is not even cooked right…

  8. Despite of the boss spinning around or tank spinning too I do enjoy playing MNK just because of the positions mechanic makes me more active playing instead of a ranged static DPS or usual mellee fighters
