  1. As for healers I believe firmly that if the tank is popping cds, and they are not dead then dps away! An optimized dungeon run is having the tank invuln the first pull after each boss to ease up on healing and focus on dps.

If you have a tank that is complaining they are not topped off but haven’t ever died, then you have a tank that doesn’t understand late game strats and you aren’t the issue 🙏

Parties work best in unison and can shave off a 20 min dungeon to 15 mins if you’re in sync

  2. They choose to do the healer strike on release, it was a bad timing, everyone is hyped to new expansion and wanted to do the content, and we got more players then ever in the game, obviously would fail, specially cuz this is a problem from shadowbringers, if you're a warrior you can pretty much heal yourself and clear most of the dungeons, it's not easy, but it's possible, and they start to complaing just now? bullshit 100%

  3. Initially there was a lakc of healers for Expert, but I'd say that is mostly just a case of most tending to not want to go through the story first time as a healer. As a healer main, the people on the 'healer strike' were people who clearly played much more casually and weren't playing the actual hard content. When I did experts with friends its always 1 war and 3 dps and I'm fine with it since I have savage or ultimates for more interesting fights with healing involved. That said, DT itself has been wonderful giving more healing which has been only a positive over-all with the new additions on healers having over-all been fun to me.

  4. There was never actually a healer strike, just a handful of people on NA forums forgetting that at the end of an expac you have a very low player count compared to the start.

The manifesto released was even sillier, complaining about how Healing DPS is boring. The rotation is only simple now because everyone in Stormblood cried that it was too hard.

  5. There wasn't a shortage of healers, but holy crap have the healers been absolute trash (especially in ex fights). 0 thought put into keeping anyone alive, especially during prog where mistakes are to be expected. I've even watched healers let themselves die for a glare

  6. As a healer main my main problem was that the content was a bit too easy and I had nothing to heal. I'd say that problem is fixed in DT. Also it was really hilarious hearing them go on about wanting more dps skills, when healers were the ones complaining about their job complexity in the first place.

  7. I don't think we're under appreciated, more so the kits have lost their job identities, making those who have mained specific healers for a long period of time not want to play as healers anymore. The reason I stopped playing AST is because the cards have lost their identity, as well as the removal of stances, just so they can "mainstream" the job and make it more "accessible". It's just boring to play as a healer now compared to what we had pre Shadowbringers and Endwalker. Maybe we'll see changes in the next expansion, because YoshiP did say that he can't touch jobs for this expansion.

  8. The things that the Healer Strike was originally meant to accomplish was wake the developer team to reconsider the approach to healers and their roles in content. With most competent groups being able to avoid most mechanics in some endgame content, the healers are inevitable relegated to three or four damage buttons, which is not a very engaging rotation.

I've had this issue and more with Sage, myself. Sage relies on it's special abilities, the ones that use the gague charges, to regain MP when not using Lucid Dreaming. Since that is the case, and those charges are relegated to "free" healing abilities, it's actually detrimental for Sage to be in an actually competent group. They literally rely on the party taking damage to be effective.

When a Healer is in a competent group, and everyone's avoiding the mechanics, pressing the same two or three buttons throughout, say, two minutes can be pretty boring.

While I am not participating in the healer strike, I fully understand why people are doing it.

  9. I found the healer strike stupid at the beginning and i think the healer strike is stupid even now (if it's still there). While not maining as a healer, I found the healing more asking in some instances so healer mains have no right to be 'tHeRe'S nO hEaLiNg NeCeSsArY'. The panic in some instances as SGE was real for me but… it was fun. Chaotic but fun. I guess if a tank strike is happening very silently, i can lol at that xD

  10. IDK I still healer main and most people around me didn't turn from healer because of strike, they just went for new class instead, they main Viper, Picto now.

  11. To clarify, the reason the healer strike went unnoticed, is because it was a vocal minority (and I mean absolute laughable minority) think that the ENTIRE GAME was going to be based on the first dungeon in difficulty. While DT dungeons are far harder than most content we've seen since ARR (relative to) most things still need the healer present, and DRK is the lone tank, possibly GNB that can't solo bosses while only PLD and WAR can. That said, they got mad because a hardcore raider got some buddies to do this. Not some casuals, a top tier savage raider who has cleared ultimates, who gold and pink parses on fights as tanks regularly did this. It was no reason other than top tier players able to trivialize the game. That's like getting mad at people for 1 shotting Souls bosses with the exact proper setup, or finishing the game at lvl 1

  12. Scholar main here, tbh DT has been the most fun healing just because how much faster everything is. They’ve made changes to the fights where the healing is something that has to be weaved into DPSing more often. Bosses use a lot more DoTs now. Having Swiftcast being so much shorter means using it for more than just Res, especially with Recitation’s having a shorter cooldown and Concitation’s buff making it plus Emergency Tactics heal just as good as Indom; There’s just a lot more interesting resource management because damage from enemies is being spread out in frequency instead of just big hits every 60 seconds. This is especially clear with mechanics that aren’t just dodging aoes but instead requiring little mini-heaI checks. I gladly welcome it.

  13. Oh look, another comment section with projecting bots talking shit about the strike. As someone who is currently farming Ex1 for the mount, healing is still fucking braindead, so I don't want to hear anyone give me that "you don't play harder content" crap. Not needing to heal a lot wouldn't even be an issue if our DPS rotation wasn't 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. I also find it insane how people will say: "Oh the strikers actually suck because the healers I got suck" not realizing that almost all the good healer players left the role entirely by Shb. What does that leave you with? Oh yeah! The "hurr durr fast Q timez Im so witty!" healers. Like, can we use our brain for one minute or do we need another thread demanding Yoshi P make content easier? These clowns talk a lot of shit only for me to catch them freecure fishing.

We don't even care that people are coming in to fill the space. What pisses us off is when these toxic casuals waltz in and try to act cute because they don't want to lose their Netflix and Chill role. Like, go ahead, fish for freecure and pretend your role is at all relevant in casual or even Extreme content. Pretend you're sticking it to us by talking about the instant healer queues while making our DPS queues shorter.
