  1. The only people complaining are people that afk around limsa all day. You are allowed to play the game how you want but most other folk want a challenge and frankly I believe they should go harder. Because if you played the game for years and are getting stuck then you are obviously doing something wrong.

  2. Absolutely no, they honestly could go farther since people know mechanics now and once we get higher level gear it will be a cake walk still. I just do not understand the people that complain. Content only gets easier, no one should want or expect to go into new content blind with a new rotation they still need to practice and never be in danger of wiping. I want pain and struggle at launch lol.

It's not hard, it's just unfamiliar, is the perfect way to describe DT content.

  3. My favorite fight is M3. (Apparently people are using M or MMA, since A was stolen by Alexander). The mechanics are all things we've seen before, just a tad faster… but the important thing is that he does brute damage that us healers have to think about now. The new SCH ability of Seraphism looked like an overpowered cheat code when it was announced (it turns your GCDs into instant casts, makes your GCDs stronger, removes the cooldown on Emergency Tactics so we can now do pure healing as well, AND gives the whole party regen), but I'm being taught to use it here because I may have to burn my mid-scale healing kit leaving me with nothing but the Big Red Button. The fight is making me use my toolkit. This is a novel idea for us healers. P9 was a joke that I didn't even heal during one go because I saw that the other healer could handle it. That is how dull EW raiding was.

For the first time, I'm doing current high level content. I'm trying extremes and hoping to try savage. There's a moment in Extreme Valigarmanda that requires me to use Seraphism to keep the party alive… if I didn't have training from M3, I may not have learned that this tool is used for very specific, BIG PERSISISTENT DAMAGE situations.

Also, the M3 phase change is just hilarious. The only phase changes approaching it are Shiva (finger snaps before instantly killing her in normal mode) and Brute Justice (POWER RANGERS LET'S GOOOOO). Edit: Oh, and Yojimbo, of course. That was some funny stuff.

  4. Raids aren't hard and tho Honey B is slightly annoying, its nothing compared to the cats from the Expert dungeon. I think the mechanic is interesting but there have been times they've grabbed me when I wasn't even close to them. And it feels like they're coming non-stop I'm glad I'm not a caster

  5. its NOT required content, if u don't like it or "It's to hard" do something else. I'm a casual player and i like not being able to conquer a fight the first time through. its fun trying to figure out the puzzles. i started at the end of shb and only play 3 days a week.

  6. I'm casual, ffxiv is my first mmo, i started 2 years ago, but I don't play straight, I play intermittently like 5 months straight then 6 or 7 mnths hiatus then return on free days then on expac launch. The new content? No. It's not that hard. I wiped 2 or three times on first runs of, even on 2nd ones on the dawntrail content sure, but it's not hard. They can go harder and I'd play it.

  7. They are hard on the first /2nd encounter. After that you know fight. M3 the hardest. When he does lariat I learned to swing the camera around before he does the first one so I know which direction to run also just run to the middle after 1st lariat. Healers save your big mitigations for that big aoe slam he does to that poor floor. Paladins if you see healer struggle please just keep your wings up until he stops slapping floor. Tanks you may want to cover healers during that phase as well cuz healers tend be squishy. Also dps stop using LB3 UNLESS boss at like 4%. You can use it with your guild runs but don’t do it during pugs. I understand you want to be able to LB twice but I can’t tell how many times dps just lb3 a little bit halfway in the fight only for the entire party to wipe and wishing we had a healer LB3… these are also very long.

  8. Watching these raid right videos, it doesn't seem too difficult. But then I've seen some of the Expert Roulette boss fights and I'm pretty sure those are a bit overboard. The ghost teacup thing for one, and I recall there was another one that has a ton of AoEs to avoid at the same time (might have been the same dungeon). I haven't played DT yet, I tend to come back for the Rising event, so I won't be back for another few weeks yet.

  9. I blame endwalker for this lol, some of the playerbase have been spoonfed easy content, but now that dawntrail reintroduced stress they are struggling to adapt, its okay to fail and learn lol
    It's part of the fun.

  10. The thread on the forums about this devolved into a WW2 mustache man rally. Hardcore players wanting to purge casuals from the game and Calling them subhuman garbage and mocking disabled people. I have never seen so much hate in an MMO thread before as half of the posts are now deleted. I unsubbed after reading them and I saw many of the bad ones before deletion. They should of called dawn trail civil war instead.

  11. Totally agree EVERYONE Casual to Hardcore in my FC has loved the new content. Dawn trail has had the best dungeon/raid design in ages. Hopefully they don't listen to the people complaining on forums/Twitter. People need to remember dying is fun its how you learn.

  12. In overall opinion in dawntrail I absolutely enjoyed it yes I found it challenging compared to previous expansions I can say when I first saw the changes I did struggle with it but in the end I managed to get through in the end in all fairness some people will find it hard but I do believe it is possible to get through I accept the changes it has given players I respect that not everyone will see my point of view but I definitely believe really good start for a new story of ffxiv

  13. Here's the thing. This is level 100 content. In any other video game genre, content gets harder the further you get. And because of the way the game is structured, you know everyone has completed certain content to get to this point. Why shouldn't the game get progressively more difficult as you level up?

  14. It's not that hard. Just learn the fight. In terms of normals, I feel this is equal or just less than the difficulty Stormblood started with. Consider this as the mechanics refresher that Stormblood had. I'm up for it and look forward to all the new things they're messing with. We direly needed this palette cleanser of an expansion.

  15. Square has spent a long number of years babying the players after the Gordias Incident. They'd do something fun and new, or even interesting, and they'd complain. 'Shtola's solo fight, Thancred Stealth, Thancred action, End sequence of 5.5. Culling of gameplay mechanics such as proper aggro management, complete bastardization of jobs and still they continue to complain. Square should've told them all "git gud" years ago and kept in place a series of "you will do this fight alone" encounters where you must be at least competent at your job if you're going to get through it. Years of pampering led to this and it is a mistake. I am happy that we're getting stuff that has hands and will absolutely slap you silly if you do not give it its due course.

The fact that people are complaining is another day that ends in Y. SE needs to keep pushing up the standard and enforcing it as Dawntrail goes on.

  16. I'm super casual, like I haven't touched an extreme in a decade (not counting soloing unsynced old extremes for mounts) but honestly I don't think there was an increase in difficulty in dawntrail. MSQ, dungeons, normal trials and even normal Arcadion, it didn't feel any different to me as far as difficulty and complexity compared to previous expansion. Now maybe the extreme and savage are gonna blow it up, I wouldn't know. Maybe if dawntrail gets its own eureka style zone it'll be hard as nails, who knows, but as far as regular content the statement of increased difficulty seems really exaggerated, hell, I've had more trouble with the warrior of light MSQ trial than any of the dawntrail MSQ trials and I beat warrior of light MSQ on second try.

  17. I just don't get it. How can people say the DT dungeon difficulty is too hard? I am the definition of a casual and been playing tank, which I haven't done since mid-shadowbringers, and have one shot every dungeon and all the trials with NPCs except the last one. Then I started playing DF and hit Similton one day and got smashed. EnW stuff is much harder.

  18. Its funny because today i was thrown back the the first trial after clearing the Ex of it like 20+ times and its really just getting used to new content. The normal mode was like playing babymode and this is coming from someone who's first encounter with the first trial was somewhat challenging.
We just have to get used to it as a playerbase is all. And i firmly believe that dropping a gcd for the learning curve is okay, despite us committing to the ABC mindset. We just need to look forward, embrace the change and get used to it.

  19. I think another reason the Arcadion raids are so memorable is that the story is built around the fights. In Pandemonium the plot was "get to the end" with the creatures and people of the place getting in our way. It makes certain fights feel like filler as you're just fighting "buff carbuncle" or what have you. Top that off with the presentation being absolutely stellar, and these are my favorite normal raids so far, and its a shame I'll have to wait so long to see it conclude.

  20. People complaining about these fights smh. People need to learn that its ok to fail. If content is too hard for you then you simply have to evolve and become better than you were if you seriously want to clear it. There is no content that gatekeeps you from story. I can't remember if the 97 trial is duty support or not but the 93 is and all msq dungeons are duty support enabled. With duty support you get a guided tour through the dungeon / trial and all you have to do is literally follow any one of your wonderful companions. they will dodge all mechanics and you can braindead your way through the dungeon to enjoy the story.

  21. Is Dawntrail "Harder"?

Yes, yes it is. There's more mechanic where they show less of AoE-Indicators on the ground, and is more visual-ques with alot of mechanics now, and the window to avoid mechanics if you're wrong is much smaller.

    But…

    Is Dawntrail "Hard"?

Absolutely not. Mechanics may be faster/smaller window for mistake, you can still see what's needs to be done to avoid mechanic. Sure it's more visually-reliant to do mechanic, it's by far not so vague that you don't know what the boss is doing. Raising their Right Arm up? Most likely a cleave on the right-half of the arena. Facing a random direction that's NOT the tank and charging something? Most likely get behind.

The biggest that people has to understand is that difficulty in MMORPG, or in FFXIV in general comes from how "Harsh" the punishment is if you get it wrong.
Instantly dying if you get hit once (ignore any vuln stack), the entire raid wipes if 1 person does a mistake. A long, 10 to 15 minute long fight that you have to do from teh start if you wipe. A HARSH enrage-timer where if you lose 1 or 2 DPS you will NOT meet the enrage check…Everything that only ever existed, in Savage and Ultimate content.

But the problem is now we have so many people who thinks "Getting hit by mechanic that they've never seen before = It's too hard.", or "I got hit 4 times in a row and I died, clearly this is hard." or even "We didn't clear the MSQ dungeon boss/Normal raid boss in One Pull, it took 2 or 3 pulls. Clearly this is tooooooooooo hard."

We're getting more people who wants to avoid doing mistakes, avoid putting in that extra BIT of effort to learn, to learn from their mistake and so forth, and now we have more people who strongly believe that "Casual" content should be so easy, that absolutely zero effort should be put into it, and it's utterly ridiculous.

  22. I think the part of the community that is complaining is an extremely loud minority that needs to learn2play.
We have people with a large variety of skills within our FC and everyone has been having a blast doing it.
p.s. you got a sub, good vid!

  23. So far the only hard thing do to in Dawntrail is liking Wuk Lamat. They did a stellar job designing the new fights. I couldn't tell you if they are "harder" than previously seen but they definetely get you out of that "comfort zone" if I have to put a name on it. They make you run around the arena and the fights are much more lively than they used to. (speaking only of normal content here ofc).

  24. I get you point, I like difficult encounters, but this is good enough for people that might not want to enter synced high end contents. The current raid is good enough as a light nibble for hardcores and a good meal for more casual player

  25. The game has not felt this great to play since Stormblood. And that was the last time you heard this much praise for end game content in terms of variety and difficulty. I am super exicted to see what they do with the FF11 themed Alliance Raid.

  26. Honestly, Dawntrail is just the start of a much needed course correction from the snoozefest we've had through Stormblood-Endwalker.. i enjoy it and hope SquareEnix keep heading that way

  27. Raids are not required for MSQ. They are gorgious, fun and challenging.

The dungeons are a bit more difficult than they've been in other X-packs but weren't insurmountable, for me.

The "for me" part is key here. It boils down to numbers. If in the first quarter 30٪ or more of the purchasers of DT seem stuck, the instances will be nerfed as a matter of business practicality. People flaming "lesser players" for their lack of skill in those instances will only exasperate the problem, as those "lesser players" will stop coming for the abuse.

It's our call, really. We can give a hand up or even carry where needed and keep the current skill requirement of play, or we can assume sanctimony and eat the nerf.

  28. I don't personally feel like the difficulty of the normal raid is a big step up from what we're used to. If anything the choreography is more detailed than its ever been, providing the player with easy instructions. Nearly everything (there are some few exceptions) present is a variation on something we've seen before, with the only real difference being the visual presentation. Sure, M2 is a little weird with the hearts phase and the phase my friend group calls "random bullshit, go!" are a bit unusual, but it's not outrageous. Players just seem to have been pushed outside their comfort zone and they're having a kneejerk reaction to it. The only thing I feel like is a bit nonsense is the tight timing in M4 for the dual sided cannon. Unless my foot is right on that line and I'm ready to go then I'm guaranteed to get clipped by it. I've spoken to others and found it's not an uncommon issue there.

  29. Difficulty? What Difficulty? All yoshi p did was put the bar of the standard Difficulty back to normal. Shadowbringers and endwalker were infantile content(easy mode). The people complaining are probably mentally lacking and should probably uninstall lol this expansion is not for you anymore. Or stay doing fates and soft cookie content. Dawntrail is fantastic in terms of challenge. I actually dont get bored anymore in Dawntrail content but dread doing anything under level 100 lol.

  30. you are also not doing normal mod that often. As soon as the next tomes come out, casual ppl will just farm those and buy their 720 gear. its not that bad if you wipe once or twice while improving at it and then manage to overcome it.
This is not like Coils of bahamut 9 normal mode Nael, where you just que in for the story and after 1 hour the instance runs out of time and you still didnt clear.
