  1. On a different note:

One thing I did was create an alt and use the Ninja job skip to unlock Viper on that alt. Playing through ARR like this also allows for you to get familiar with what is available in the kit at what level. While this may not work for everyone: it gave me the opportunity to slowly figure out Viper without getting overwhelmed with all new abilities. As such: I am more comfortable playing Viper in levels that are a bit higher than when it was first launched.

  2. No matter what yoshi P or anyone else says unless the jp people are complaining or saying anything nothing will happen it's basically proven at this point

  3. Literally just take positionals out of the game. Full stop. Period. They are a major hinderance for anyone playing outside of a static, with time together, understanding where your tanks are going to always have the boss positioned during the timeline of the fight. Not to mention the amount bosses tend to spin around or have larger hit boxes, so it adds even more strain to the player. I enjoy Viper the way it is currently, positionals included, but I would honestly much rather just drop the 50 potency to 25 and take away having to hit a certain spot. Good middle ground.

Honestly my biggest gripe is the weird icon layout for free-flowing your rotation on your hotbars and how they change during Reawaken.

  4. im pretty sure theyre just gunna get rid of the positionals on the hunters coil and swiftskin coil and keep everything the same, thats my guess anyways

  5. I don’t understand the confusion.. I too struggle with some jobs if they are too complex but Viper is so easy. A guide I watched said it best. Follow the glowy buttons. One set is meant for single target the other aoe targets.

For the two that light up at the same time I tend to follow potency value, unless it’s the same I use the one that hits hardest first then circle back.

  6. TBH some people seems to spend their time more eagerly on forums than playing their class (especially speaking with the button stack complaint). I arranged my skills in a logic pattern (pad user) so it flows even more smoothly and helps muscle memory. I agree with those who said that the class was underestimated because it's quite easy to understand and to use on a training dummy đŸ˜”
I sincerely like the way the class plays, even if it asks quite a lot of concentration to follow both the fight and the rotation. Still I enjoy the concept, so I'll keep using it whatever they choose to do.

  7. Do the buttons not glow on console? I don’t understand how “button identity” is an issue when the one you should use just glows when you should use it. I really don’t see how it’s that hard to remember the abilities. The first two are always the same and the second two are always the same. Only the last set changes depending on which of the second two you hit, and then like Zepla said, it’s color coded. And the basic rotation for the combos is pretty easy anyways. 111, 221, 112, 222. That gives you all buffs and cycles all of the finishers.

  8. I just will never agree with the notion that all classes should be accessible to everyone. There are a large number of mmo players that simply do not like playing easy classes because it puts them to sleep.

Like im sorry but if you think a class is too hard/complex such that it isn't for you, that's literally just a skill issue and completely on you

  9. Honestly if they ruin viper already im cancelling my subscription and going to play elden ring or something. Remember, companies only care about one thing, money. Vote with your wallet!

  10. I love how busy Viper is but I really think they need to lose those 2 positionals that aren't part of the 1,2,3 combo or lose the two in the combo. With how busy the job is having that many positionals just feels like too much to me. Other than that though I LOVE the job and it is easily my favorite in the game.

  11. Thinking that Viper is too hard and too inaccessible to play is literally the biggest skill issue on planet earth. Like hot damn. The Job is really easy to get the hang of. It's so much fun and it feels so good to play once you get it. If people get this Job change not even a Week into the expansion i will never forgive the FFXIV community lmao

  12. The only thing I don't like about Viper is that having to press the 2 OGCDs back to back in quick succession but they have a very slight delay between them is really putting me off. Been playing Samurai the whole game so being able to spam them without that delay is second nature to me by now.

  13. I did the viper tutorial. I watched 2 media tour overviews. I watched a 'simple' guide from dawntrail launch and that one did help….

I still can't figure this class out. I don't get it. I feel like I am either expecting there to be more and I can't find it, or the speed is just throwing me off or the bar and the little yellow ant-trail guiding you to combos being THE EXACT SAME THING (Right? That bar and what being in the difference stance means are the main wtf for me)… but I just can't get this job. I was really hyped but I've been avoiding it. I wish we could just play these at low levels easily without being in a party. POTD is fine but even that goes HYPER fast.

I don't think it needs to be changed, I'm just saying it's a weird as hell class (and I was a ninja main for all of ARR and HW) so I wonder how many people are just getting confused about the unclarity of the mechanics.

For me, I expected VIP to be a thing where you swap from stance to stance and there's 2-sword rotation and a sword-staff rotation, kinda like RPR but with more flexiblity on when you swap or GNB but with a whole 'second half' instead of just like 1 combo that uses a (bullet) resource.
But it seems like the sword staff is just a visual indicator (lame) that you're on the 3rd step of your combo…? Or not? They kept using the word 'finisher' in the tutorial but AFAIK there is never another job that uses that word so I'm confused why they're acting like that's a useful phrase.

  14. i dont even look at the color coding, the positional is depending on what button was pushed on the 2nd step in the 3 step rotation for the normal abilities so that one just takes care of itself

  15. I'm doing the EX fights as Viper with the optimal rotation, its FUN and NOT hard to play.

I don't get the issues people have, I think its mostly people who haven't tried to get to know the rotation or read the skills

  16. Viper is fine except for the directionals are a bit hard to pull off in EX content. A lot of times you don't get the bonus cause you have to dodge so much crap. I'm already farming an Ex and yeah, it's not easy to do directionals. The other one, you can't even get to his rear, so all rear bonuses are null and void.

  17. "Forums BAD, bohooo."- "Devs please consider our feedback." "Oh you want us on the forums ?" "But forums bad." – .SIGH. – Why are forums bad? "Because all people toxic and blah blah because Youtuber/Twitter Fame Person said so." Ok, yeah stay away and go to twitter a place better suited for you or you voice youre opinion and go to the FORUM AND POST. Just because not all people agree with you does not mean they are toxic or trolls. I disagree with a lot of things Zepla says but still enjoy her content. Not that hard. Use brain, i promise it will not hurt.
