I think the metaphor that Hythlodaeus was making gets lost in translation a bit. In Japanese, the word star is used for every single space object beyond the Earth, Sun, and Moon. Which is the reason Eorzea throughout the game is referred to, even in English, as a star. In Japanese, he was saying that the convocation members were comparable to the 13 Zodiac signs, which is why theyâre etched onto their sigils. The 14th members sigil, had the Sun, and had the power to summon those constellations to their sideâŠbut often chose their friends instead. Thereâs also a second comparison being made, but wonât get into it because spoilersâŠbut that part often confuses people due to its wording. Hope itâs helpful!
