I love my Ninja ^^
My favorite is BLM but I tend to go back to SAM for any high end duty, it just makes it so much easier, a simple loop to execute while being able to move and you only have to worry about adapting your filler's length based on downtime
this but i fell in love with Ninja as of recent. i hated how it worked in Stormblood, and the rework and Shadowbringers its self fixed everything i disliked about. Knowing ninja since ARR and seeing it now in SHB makes me feel like it's really evolved and kept most of it's identity in the way that it's built upon the mudra system and has abilities that interacts with it. its at a great point to build onto in Endwalker. i generally dislike SHB's job design, but NIN struck a cord with me.
One of the biggest things i love about samurai is, it being catered to all kinds of players equally. Beginner friendly, gets damage done easily. But also how rewarding it feels to actually put effort and play it correctly at high level. The dps increase to play the job correctly is extremely high. Low skill floor, high skill ceiling.
And also you don't have to depend on others to push your max. Contrary to NIN, DRG, MNK. You will still be cucked in what you provide to the raid if your team does not play well.
To add more depth to samurai, you can start trying to go midare first because you can skip the filler for two loops and transpose the 60s rotation before it breaks down! It's something that you can't do that with higan first because dots will drop. I realized during this patch that hagakure is only to maintain a loop, but if there's intermission, there's no reason to strictly maintain it and you can continue building up to more midares.
Do like Sam as well
Really loving DRG right now, even if it's quite straightforward to play it feels busy enough through most fights with all the weaving and positionals to keep me engaged.
And the animations are just so good.
I like playing SAM as well because the rotation and gameplay really does feel super smooth to play, but if I feel like becoming THE SPEED I play MNK
SAM was my favorite Melee DPS, Then Reaper trailer came so i main him now
Welcome to the true DPS class
Samurai is incredible. When a job that you hate thematically can still make you wanna main it, then that's a huge success in my book.
I was a summoner main, but I really disliked the rework they did in ShB. Now I don't know what i'd play if I came back.
I like simple so Im in love with MCH, it also reminds me of survival hunter from cataclysm expansion in wow which brought nostalgia.
I opened the job yesterday and as it's customary for me I immediately place all abilities, even the unavailable ones starting the job, into my hotbar and I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of abilities this job has, sadly I was left with an extra ability I can't place in my usual hotbar unless I expand it by adding the directional inputs in my WXHB, which I've avoided and haven't needed with my previous jobs.
Either that or I'll just take out "Feint"
I dont play it cause I dont like the animations and I tend to play low tier jobs
im actually so worried about the 1 min loop being removed bc casuals hate not having tsubame available when its off cd
I just finished capping all magic jobs, so naturally Sam was my first choice in exploring melee dps. I’m just glad all my time having Burst Strike not break my Gnb combos has built muscle memory in me to do Iaijutsu midcombo in order to maximize Sen gain. Weaving in Kaiten before Midare is also very satisfying and I’m not even 60 yet why yes I do like Blm how can you tell?
I like summoner and dragoon. Summoner was the first DPS I leveled after spending the first two expansions playing warrior and gunbreaker respectively. It was obviously so different from those, which was innately appealing since it was a new experience, and walking around with my pet, minion, and chocobo out gave me big dragon quest v (my favorite) vibes. I leveled dragoon because my FC has very few melee mains. That was the first job I played where I felt like, yeah, this feels right, and it’s the only one I’ve played so far in high end stuff including savage (except doing E5S pre-5.4). I do enjoy warrior as well, though. It’ll always be a job I return to.
Of the jobs I've properly tried, WHM>BLM>BLU>DNC>SCH=DRK=RDM>AST>SMN(technically) or something like that. I have only really just lvled everything to 50 currently so I don't count those as "properly tried". I rarely play Blm but it is still one of my favorite jobs to play, and is my current favorite dps, roughly 55% because it's DoM.
Edit: I left out AST.
Dancer is my comfy job the one I know I like and perform well on but this tier I've been tanking and love gnb and am scared just where they will take both jobs into endwalker as I just can't see what they can add in just hoping they don't dumb down gnb as the fast pace and cartridge combo is satisfying.
I love SAM so much whenever i dontvl play any tank
I hate Tsubame Gaeshi, but that's about it. They should allow you to cast Tsubame in between iajutsus. Everything else about the class just works well.
We have talked about it alot, but my favourite is Dancer. Mostly because it is easy & I'm a n00b (^: but it's fun & challenging to optimise & it requires alot of team work. Yes it's also annoying because it's massively RNG & to get a top parse you have to rely on your partner being good over all & the group performing inside the burst window, especially since without this, a dancer has low DPS. But outside of that I find it far more fun than MCH which is just the same short rotation over & over & over.
Maybe someday you can teach me Samurai o/
I've just started levelling SAM myself and Im having a lot of fun with it, but I'm having trouble keeping my buffs up mid-dungeon and sometimes mid-boss though.
i should give SAM another chance. I played through the SB story as SAM since I always play the new DPS job for the expansion MSQ, but I didn't really touch it much after I finished 4.0.
il stick to monk. can pull close to sams dps in e9-12s if i have a good run and don't miss to many pos plus a raid buff, utility, and i hate the 60 second loop thing monk is simple without the positionals once its muscle memory its easier than sam imo lol
I've always enjoyed playing SAM, but back in SB, I was always playing DRG if I was playing a melee since that's what I started with before shifting towards being a tank main and in ShB, I've been focusing on tanks and ranged physical, so I don't end up playing much SAM except in roulettes.
DRG always and forever
Omni Melee main here but monk was, is , and always my main melee dps. It often gets a bad wrap because of it being positional heavy but to me that's what makes it fun for me that it makes you work for it and before you know it you're doing amazing DPS 🙏🏾❤️
may i ask ;
what weapon i used at samurai? thats so cool but i didnt know what weapon is, maybe u can tell me thanks ^_^
I love the cute Lala hair in the thumbnail! I started playing SAM again after maining MCH/DAN. It’s so hard to get used to fighting up close again!
