Achievement hunting in FFXIV is a hardcore niche aspect of the game, where its integrity is managed by players on discords linked to website leaderboards. With some achievements taking several years to complete (completing all leve quests achievements require 7.5 years), players in this scene are some of the most dedicated and hardcore players known to the game. Bill was one of the top achievement hunters; the attention he’s getting is a result of clear evidence of cheating coupled with his history of bragging, paid clears and gatekeeping conversations surrounding botting and the very tools he uses.
Suspicions around Bill have been surrounding him for months but there was no clear evidence of cheating, until now. With Bill nuking the entire NA achievement discord community this only affirms the admission of guilt. Hopefully SE will enforce on this as evidence of cheating is brought to light.
