  1. its seems this patch that the devs really just didnt want us to play much unless we were already doing things to begin with so personally after i clear the new deep dungeon im also gonna take a nice break from ff14 for awhile maybe ill burn through my backlog ive been putting off.

  2. This reminds me of Zack, he got burned out and just trying other games did him well. And overall you are just taking a break, it could be long or short, but I guess it hits hard when you are a content creator.

  3. FF14 creators MUST play other games than FF14. Just to put the community in check – to let the community know that they don't control you.

Seen it happen too many times when players try to pigeon hold creators and try to penalize them for doing things they don't like. Forget all that. Diversify. Let them toxic people be overwhelmed in a crowd of differing opinions. Their biggest fear is people who are independent and make their own decisions.

  4. I’ve only recently heared the phrase ‘married to a game’ and it’s very descriptive of how some treat playing something. But it’s just a game, your job doesn’t involve playing one single game but nurturing a community. Some who are way too invested in whatever their ‘main game’ is may feel betrayed and sore by this, but merging our self and self-esteem with a game is dangerous to do on its own, and extending this to others who play with us is also at least dubious, albeit just human nature. So yeah have fun Zepla, you deserve to~

  5. She quited because there's no content in FF, EX, Savage and Ultimate don't keep people online, Casuals won't understand, but this is the truth, we WANT to play FF every single day, but there is nothing to do. We can't have a grind or competitive content, because Casuals are 90% of this community and they will cry a lot about this kind of content.

  6. I was playing 10+ hours every day, which was fine because when I got tired of grinding I could progress the story as a break. Then I beat Endwalker and all that was left was the grind. Started leveling jobs I didn't like, powering through all the crafting and gathering, then I would sit at the FC house staring at the sky putting out drama fires. I remember rubbing my temples, staring at discord and my girlfriend asked, "What are you doing?" and I didn't have an answer. I took one day off. Then two. Then a week. That was over six months ago. I'll come back when there's something I see that looks fun to work toward.

  7. FFXIV is my personal favorite MMORPG of all time! I am on a break right now too! I left after completing the MSQ when it was released several months ago! I will come back when the MSQ storyline continues! I am playing catch up with all the other games I want to play! I will do the Loporitts when I come back!

  8. I find that when I feel that way I wait a couple of patches before I come back..I check in to keep my house and retainers running and that's it..10mins out of my day

  9. 6-7 years without taking a break? Girl, you are crazy….I get burnt out every other patch (with the exception of expansions) so I take frequent breaks. You do you, play those other games, have fun. The community isn't going anywhere and will be here when you get back to playing FFXIV. Genshin is a fun game, though I do get burnt out from that as well, but the difference is that there is a pretty decent returning reward system if you ever take a break in Genshin.

  10. This is the best part of ffxiv. I was intimidated by mmorpgs and ffxiv didn’t pressure me to play all day every day. It also has such a variety of content that the lag between patches is an opportunity to engage in other things. Personally I’ve been hooked on crafting and gathering for the past month lol

  11. I find myself playing XIV less and less nowadays, but I don't consider that a bad thing. Even when I take prolonged breaks, I'm not missing much of anything and what's there can be explored when I get back around to playing the game. I'm grateful that CB3 designed the game in such a way that it doesn't punish you for taking breaks.

  12. miss, you really need to step back for a second, I know life has been hard, and playing games is kinda a relief sometimes to get away from it all, but in the end it s not the solution, believe me, i know it. Just gonna wish you the best, all
    i can do

  13. There's nothing wrong with taking a break! I've been playing octopath traveler 2 on my break! I'll catch up on everything after I'm done playing the game. There's no rush anyway.

  14. The FFXIV storyline with the Endwalker finale was just soooo epic, how can anything else hope to match it or surpass it? I lost the urge to carry on with the following patch with the anti-climax title “Newfound Adventure” and has not played the game since…..

  15. I feel zepla a lot I'm the same I only care about raiding and ex I do the previous relic because they are more grinding then the new ones already have 3 relics from the new ones. Honestly they of making the game so much easier on every patch I only play the game for 3 year and I can already feel it a lot of veteran players I know have already quit the game or are not interested to do the little patches coming up . I myself wish to get into the ultimate rn but to setup a team is the biggest struggle right now but I still hoping to get this going

  16. I have over 30,000 hours in game (1,300+ days if my calculations are correct) and one thing I always wanted was a house. I finally got it on the new data center, and I’ve been struggling to play since April 2022, thinking the house might help because it’s content I’ve wanted to do… unfortunately my situation hasn’t changed and I still continue to struggle justifying logging in to do literally anything. I dunno what it is, maybe the game is just done for me. I don’t want it to be, but I can’t think of anything else that would keep me away for an entire year, after putting so much time towards it.

  17. this is precisely why I love ff14 so much. You can go do something else without any guilt and enjoy yourself, then come back when there is something you want to do. Imagine that WoW players wasted 15 years before realizing they can do this

  18. Been playing since 2.0 and have been feeling this too. Hopefully, after however long of a break you take, you'll be able to come back to the game and enjoy it. Thank you for all you've done for the community.

  19. Because final fantasy is boring these days. Im not even excited for any patch, and I have played since a realm reborn. The game feels boring. I'm so close to loosing my house because im bored and can't justify buying a sub just to keep my house.

  20. this is a prime example of great game design. You want to log in, but you don't HAVE to. I'm in a similar situation with a bunch of other games dropping content at the exact same time. (edit) Hope the break is a restful one Zepla.

  21. One should never be this stressed over not logging into a video game. You can hear it in here voice and see in her gestures. Everyone needs to have a break she is well liked in the community she should no everyone supports her decisions.

  22. I got burned out too MSQ aside, for me Endwalker is super boring. But now I'm playing a lot of games that's been gathering dust like Monster Hunter World, I never played the DLC and now I'm having a blast, played the MH Rise too and a couple of other games. So take this time and experience other games and gave fun, I know that eventually FF will call us back 👍
I may be the silent follower but heck you can play super Mario and I will follow, so heads up!
