So many options. Hoping it is a good rework… PLD has been shield bashed for way too long. Praying for some love tomorrow.
I've been trying to play as much PLD as I can this past month, even though I'm no hardcore raider, to prep for the rework tomorrow
Biggest questions I have at the moment before watching this video/reading the patch notes later is what the hell is goring/valor gonna do with no dot and more importantly if this divine might gives us a free holy spirit/circle, which we only get at 64/72 respectively, what the hell are we doing in the job until then unless we get said abilities earlier

You forgot the most important part of this video. What's your glam?

In b4 it just becomes warrior number 3. Honestly the homogenization needs to end. I hope I'm wrong and they actually do something creative and fun with it.
I'm hoping they don't get rid of cover.
It's not a great skill but it's quite unique and it makes me feel good to use it occasionally. It can also rarely make plays.
They better not remove Req, considering how they're implementing divine might which is a single stack of req after a combo.
I want pld to continue to be the utility tank, lots of party mit and utility but most likely its going to be turned into war 3.0 with how theyve treated the tank role as a whole.
See you at the world race in the coming weeks! Looking forward to one hell of a show
They mentioned making defensive action easier to use. I think divine veil is gonna lose the requirement to have a heal cast on you.
For passage, I can see them making it so that its no longer a channeled ability. Maybe something like temperance where you decrease damage taken in a radius around you. Even if they nerfed this to 10%, having that mit+divine veil would make it really defensively strong without being clunky.
Offensively, honestly I think there's just too much we don't know to make good predictions. How are goring blade and royal authority gonna be differentiated? Is atonement still there? Will Req and FoF maintain their functionality? This new divine might buff, can you only get one of it, or can you hold a certain amount?
I feel like they can't possibly make PLD, or any Job change massively without an expansion.
I personally don't think they will, or should, add a new Job for 7.0, and focus purely on a combat overhaul.
I think my only concern with PLD, is that it's getting stuff that doesn't tie in to what they already have.
Especially with the whole Sword Oath stack system.
My assumption right now, is that after Goring/AOE combo you get a Holy Spirit, and after Royal Authority you get an Atonement, and its more a case of "Okay, use Goring if i need to move at any point, but otherwise use RA, and then stack up Atonements for damage".
I imagine Req has just become their default buff skill, which I'm not against, I personally think FoF didn't fit PLD very well, and the pre-pull nonsense was just ridiculous.
