  1. "in new world like saying the game can improve everybody gets exited like yes oh my gosh imagine when we see this happen and when we can get this kind of content…"
yeah because the game is in a horrible state

  2. I can't even finish the video, this guy is garbage and just clickbait and just want attention!! And PS: idc about rewards I do content because I enjoy them and that's all I want to be Omni 90 and and idc about the reward for it!

  3. So I would recommend a clip video called, "Eliminate Lawtube" to commenters here. It has nothing to do with ffxiv but goes into Content Creators of YouTube. Specifically those around his own type but his criticisms are very familiar to what we see the ffxiv content creators do as well. You'd be surprised by the similarities.

  4. He opened with the pathos argument to try and cushion the potential criticism he knew he would receive when he suddenly switched to the hardcore passive-aggressive shit-flinging near the end of the video.

Honestly, cutting the family excuse out of the video entirely it just seems like the man is upset because WoW isn't good anymore and XIV isn't filling his need for a WoW substitute. Sure that's all fine and dandy as a reason to not play the game, but to shittalk the community just because he doesn't get what he wants from the game is fucking asinine and childish.

  5. From my observation: he says he not burned out but then says he burns himself out trying to make content on the game and spend time with the kids…so like…

That’s not an issue with the game right there…that’s a work life balance issue. Literally the first premise he’s putting forward is disingenuous. He can still play FFXIV casually without making content but then he couldn’t make money so why is this a point?

He’s focusing on comedy? Then he isn’t going to be making videos? Then he could still play the game. So that’s not really a reason for leaving the game ultimately but just to reduce hours in it.

He’s continuing to do content but for other games…so why the 1st point is moot.

He can do comedy whilst playing FF and doing content if he can play new world and do content.

    The only legitimate point is:

He likes New World more because it’s more of an MMO he likes. He likes it takes risk, sure. It’s rough atm so we will see how it goes but he only really has one real issue and the rest is him waffling.

  7. honestly, to me, the fact he felt the need to make a whole ass video about 'quitting' a /video game/ of all things tells me all i need to know lol. like sure, if he was stopping youtube/centent creation as a whole yeah, a goodbye is valid in that case but ot seems hes only switching gears? plus theres all he did to Pyro… the man farms drama/clout. i wish him the best… but dude coulda just made a tweet and been done with it

  8. When I first got in to FFXIV I watched a lot of his videos because he was really passionate and just seemed like a nice guy. But over the years I feel like he lost the passion and that came through on the videos. In term of jokes I never remember him saying anything offensive or problematic. But his comments section could be quite argumentative and so could he. He also had a habit of splitting his content across multiple channels and I found that hard to follow. Wish him all the best though.

  9. I started playing almost right before the Asmon streams, I've taken several breaks and I've beaten Endwalker. Right now I'm playing other games, and going to play God of War Ragnarök at launch. Can't wait to come back to Final Fantasy very soon. I'll probably never be a raider however, I just like to spend time in the game with the community. I don't find his video very concise or clear. Yes, their is a part of the community that won't take any suggestion well. Like regarding graphics, some of the community thought it was unneeded, Yoshi P decided to go with the graphical changes instead of listening to those not wanting ANY change.

  10. No beef with him leaving and doing other things, just unnecessary to have a pop at the community whilst doing it. If he wants to avoid the "absolute worst of humanity" and "placating angry WoW" fans he should probably steer clear of New World. Also the good riddance is the riddance of the content, not him. He's pinned the comment being toxic about the game

  11. I don't think anyone that saw Ginger's most recent content is surprised. A few months ago, he basically went on some crusade against "the FFXIV defense force," basically, the 15 yahoos among a crowd that scream the loudest and never represent the whole crowd like they wish they did, and all his videos recently have been drama farms. Tbh, I'm not stunned by this, nor do I consider it a huge loss.

Now old Brian was a bigger loss, but, again, that happened months ago. Old Brian was, at least, a good dude. This move to drama farming was just an obvious attempt to create a new persona to differentiate himself. It didn't work, so now he's bailing (maybe temporarily–he leaves the door open).

I'm sorry to see old Brian go; this most recent Ginger… Not so much. As harsh as it sounds, the game is better without the new Ginger.

  12. One thing that really bugged me about this video was his criticism that Final Fantasy XIV "doesn't take risks". We'll ignore the whole transforming 1.0 into ARR thing, since everyone has already brought that up, but "not taking risks" is such a copout reason to not like something. Sure, XIV's content CAN get pretty stale after awhile, but when you say it doesn't take risks, what the hell does that even mean? Give an example, explain what exactly it is you want them to do. "I want them to take more risks" by itself doesn't mean anything! Be specific in your criticisms!

  13. while most of the negatives about 14 are quite true, pushing your kids and family out as an excuse to quit playing a game and then "NW is so good" is utterly pathetic. I don't do that to my kids. This guy is just awful.

  14. His reasoning for leaving the game seems more personal than anything critical to the game itself so I don’t understand why he needs to explain he’s leaving the game just to focus on personal stuff

  15. I like competent story in mmos so I can't ever like new world. I tried it but got bored just at lvl 25. it's not even an average passable story. there's nothing just skeletons and reskin mobs in open world.

  16. 19:57 I don't share the opinion of Ginger Prime entirely. But I do understand what he's getting at. And to be fair, this doesn't make any sense and misses the argument. The stuff you are listing are things that the FF-devs would want to emulate or copy WoW for whatever reason. What Ginger Prime is saying is that (in recent time) it feels to him as if FFXIV developers are trying to make a game for angry WoW players, which is very different from implementing the same shitty systems they have over there already.
In other words, he feels like FFXIV is becoming something that isn't doing its own thing anymore, but instead is trying to be a better version of WoW, specifically without these systems that make players in WoW so angry. So instead of having its own identity, he feels like FFXIV is becoming more and more of something like WoW's shadow instead.
He is not saying that FFXIV is bad or anything, but he would like them to take a few more risks. He also said the same thing about how the story ended. He wanted the story writers to kill off more characters from the main cast, for example. I really don't agree that a good story has to kill off any characters and I don't quite get the point when he claims on the other hand that he was so emotional during Endwalker. But these things are a matter of taste and if he didn't like it, it's completely fine.

  17. Playing the game without a reward is a big issue. Ffxiv offers social interaction as an endgame reward. Ginger lost the social connection with FFXVI so he had no reason to farm mounts minions and glamour items.

Also 5 kids isn't unusual. Both my parents have 4 brothers and sisters, and my grandfather had 18 brothers and sisters. Its just questioned now because kids are expensive.

  18. Saying that XIV is designed for ppl who left WoW is such a clown take. It reminded me of why I quit watching him quickly after I started. What’s odd is he says he wants more family time (which five kids has to be a challenge) and the way XIV is designed actually makes it the easiest MMO to play casually if you don’t have a lot of time. Maybe it’s changed but I thought New World was nothing but a massive grind. Oh well. As Curly Bill says, “Well…..bye!”

  19. This person seems to be in a weird feedback loop bubble of people.

There is still room for improvements in FFXIV and people do acknowledge that.

Anyways: claiming that new world player are enthusiastic for improvements is no miracle. NW is relatively new, with a long road to still walk whereas FFXIV is an established game with routine in updates.

I don't buy his reason to spend more time with his family, because that is taking up only a tiny part of his video.

P.s.: I never heard of that guy before.

  20. I am hugely curious about what "risks" FFXIV should be taking? Also how is it in any way set up to placate WoW players? Apples and Oranges. When I played WoW, my last xpac being Pandaria, WoW plays nothing like FFXIV. Maybe hotbar stuff and general MMO mechanics like all of them are but I have never felt that they are similar at all. One thing that has struck me lately as similar is an armor thing I have seen where ppl get some shiny circle floating thing on their armor, THAT reminds me of WoW but that's where it ends. As far as risks? Does he want the game to change at it's core? Is that a risk he's referring to? At that point why not just make a different game and collect another monthly fee? At the end of the day FFXIVs numbers are able to speak for itself. I love the game but also take breaks every 6 months of so? Sometimes for a year or more to focus on other games that I havent "had" time to play, or I get burnt out. Last time I took all my crafters to 60 and then took 2 to 70-ish and Weaver to 80 and after going so hard on crafting I took a long break. I came back about a month and a half ago and now I'm slowly getting back into things. I haven't even touched Endwalker yet but loved Shadowbringers. I mean that xpac broke my heart and was really well written so I hope Endwalker lives up to that and based on everything I've heard I won't be dissapointed.

  21. I feel like the comments he got were overall being nice and wishing him well on his way out, and he goes out of his way to pin "Good riddance" to the top. That to me is quite telling, even knowing next to nothing about this guy.

Also absolutely rubs me the wrong way the way he talked about the community not taking feedback well. It is absolutely disingenuous to compare the excitement of New World players to FF14 players, when New World was in an awful place not that long ago. That to me screams that this guy is trying to push buttons to make people mad at him while trying to have the high ground. I feel like most creators that have been around for a while, especially raiders like Xenosys, will very often make their complaints well known and I don't see the kind of vitriol this guy is implying.

He really needed to give examples about what he dislikes that the community hated him so much about so we could put things into context.

  22. reaction 1-2 just to have a excuse to leave the game for new world. xD
he's talking about fam and job and that the game is not for him anymore cause u know it's just not what it supposed be. xDD
that video makes no sense at all, he made this video and obviously with a reason behind it just so no one can see it.
"BRUH HE HAVE 5 KIDS" i can only say "BRUH HE GOES NEW WORLD" xD

  23. His video was so long and drawn out just say you're enjoying new world and u want to make videos for it which is fine, saying that you feel that 14 exists to welcome angry WoW players is a bit of strech, pvp for a first revamp it's genuinely good criterion dungeons also a fantastic first try, and what are the risks or innovating ideas in New World? I genuinely don't know and its an honest question, because to me it's just another MMO and it is indeed beautiful but I havent heard anything other than crafting and its pretty.

  24. Turns out this guy is actually quite funny, great joke claiming his clout chasing was done for his love of the community. I'll laugh again when he doesn't get the popularity he craves from NW and tries coming back to 14.

  25. honestly, if he can't take criticism then he has a problem, criticism always happens anytime anywhere everywhere even in real-life work, and in any game, even Co-op games, offline games, and also single-player games.

I'm not defending 14, this is everywhere even your own wife, children, and family can criticize you.
is either you reflect on that criticism, see if it is a troll or a real one, and deal with it, a troll one just ignores it and moves on.
if it is a real one then reflect on it and try to improve yourself.

  27. I find it a little funny that people, in my experience, tend to be a bit vitriolic when you say anything negative about the game. Hasn't been my whole, or even a majority of my experience. But a little under half the time my opinion gets lambasted, just because I didn't think the game was the second coming of Christ. It's tiresome, even if it's not the majority of players.
